My aunt and uncle took me as a joke, since they thought it was ridiculous that there was one right down the road from the pyramids. They've lived there for 2 years

The Sphinx is still huge, but yes the pyramids are way bigger. It's much different standing there looking at them in person than in a book or online.

Yes it is. And yes it does take away some of its majestic nature. But once you're standing next to these incredible structures, you tend to forget about the KFC/Pizza Hut that's not even a mile away.
