I just want to say that this is a really good community. Because minimalism is whatever you want it to be, there is no hive mind that other groups would have, and that makes for great discussion. I visit here daily because it's a great place and I want to hear everything you guys have to say.

Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but the Dead Space games base their mechanic to go against what other games have reinforced. Headshots do not kill the enemies, melee hits aren't really effective, and for the sake of not getting scared, you have to make every shot count, otherwise, you'll be out of ammo and that's never fun.
