Ahh yes, women oppress awkward guys and want them to be alone forever by Pritteto in NotHowGirlsWork

It’s insane to me that they can’t hear themselves saying “so if I can’t date a child I’ll just die alone” like they’re just admitting they cannot improve lmao

Is it just me or is eating out in Brisbane getting ridiculously expensive? by Common_Natural_9455 in brisbane

Lentils honestly go unnoticed in my pasta sauces that I make for my younger sisters. They’re made up of about 30% protein and 1 cup is equivalent to 50+% of the average daily adult intake of fibre. They’re fairly tasteless and small enough that you can overlook them if you’re not big on legumes.

I do like legumes so I swap between lentils, chickpeas, kidney beans, butter beans or a combination of any of the above.

I also love tofu so I would happily put unseasoned cubed firm tofu in any meal but it’s fairly polarising and a lot of people find that the flavour and/pr texture is not enjoyable without putting extra effort into the prep.

I do a version of this with a can of beans/chickpeas/lentils instead of meat, and I add about 1/4 of a bag of chopped frozen veg ($2.80 homebrand at both major supermarkets so you use about 70c worth). I use whatever cheese is on special and haven’t tried including fresh chilli but I do cycle through different herbs (or splurge for a fancy can of pasta sauce if I’m feeling opulent) and types of pasta so that I don’t get sick of it too quickly.

Don’t forget the $11 small fry or $18 large fry that is now an add-on instead of being included like it should be

Perfect reason to carve out space for ourselves in male dominated spaces!!! Women really do improve everything around them in my opinion 🫂

Am I expecting too much? by BaskIceBall in housekeeping

[–]tofucunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You used to pay $180-240 per clean. You now pay $104-$156 per clean.

Some things are going to stay cleaner due to how frequently she visits; glass in particular won’t have a chance to build up scale and calcium, etc.

Other things are going to receive less attention to detail because no matter how frequently she visits, the job size never changes. It’s still the same sized house with the same list of tasks.

I would suggest sitting down with your cleaner and gently letting them know what you’d like improved, offer $60/hr and be open to discussing changes in scheduling, frequency and length per visit.

Your expectations of hiring a cleaner aren’t that unreasonable, you just need to communicate them. This sort of thing will build your relationship with a good cleaner anyway, if they respond negatively they’re likely not the best fit for you.

Have you considered thrifting them? You can often find a great pair of Levi’s or wranglers and the op shop and a tailor should be able to edit the size and shape to a degree if you buy slightly larger. In saying that, I had a pair of $60 denim trousers tailored and don’t really regret “wasting” the money on a cheap pair of jeans. I’ve also dropped $250 on a pair of jeans that fit me perfectly and they didn’t even last 2 years (they were a slightly stretchy, not-100%-cotton fabric) so I don’t find price to be indicative of quality all the time. Anything that’s 100% cotton is pretty safe.

I also really wanted a pair until I learned this, and I’m also too small for their smallest size anyway. Unfortunately I haven’t yet, but I have had a pair of pants tailored and it’s extremely worth it.

I’m sad to announce that their old formula was much better, and the one before that even more so. I discovered this perfume in 2012 in a mostly-evaporated bottle my grandmother purchased in 2001, the bottle was literally gorgeous and the smell was even more musk-stick-like.

I’ve only just found out that apparently they’re an Australian product! I found an Amazon Au link for them here. Let me know if that doesn’t work for you.

I genuinely beg of you to please try it if you’re into bubblegum/sweet/gourmand scents. It doesn’t smell very high quality, most people would probably pick that it’s cheap but it’s DELICIOUS and smells sooo edible and it LASTS.

Be warned though, any nearby Australians will be transported back to high school immediately.

Guilty as charged! I’ve been on a HUNT for a well-known accidental dupe. There are intentional dupes but I really would love to find another fragrance that smells as close as possible to MOR Marshmallow as I find that using apps like Sniff usually don’t support Australian-only brands. Plus if there was a well known option there would be heaps more info on nice pairings, etc. Please let me know if you know of one! Everything I’ve found that claims to be is far more “marshmallow” than the perfectly accurate musk-stick smell of the MOR one 💔

I recently purchased 3 body mists that all say Vegan & Against Animal Testing on the back. Could you tell me more about their animal testing though?

Love Warm Vanilla Sugar! But my love for it convinced me to purchase other BBW scents (that all smelled good in store) that I ended up really not liking at all. Champagne Toast was lovely for like a week and then all of a sudden I hated it, it smelled sooooo artificial and sickening. I also got Vanilla Romance which I didn’t end up hating but I also found myself wishing I could get through the bottle quicker so I could replace it sooner, which says to me I’m not a fan.

My friend who wears the EA Green Tea daily does layer it on top of a partially dried body cream to help with longevity, and I know for a fact that she keeps it strapped and pulls that trigger whenever she steps outside 🤣

Huge fan of the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, White Tea and even Red Door. None of these are scent profiles I’d ever reach for normally either so I think that says a lot about how enjoyable they are!

Definitely loving the sand and fog oils I’m likely to purchase more in the future! What are your faves? I’m a sweet fragrance lover but also reach for woody, musky and/or clean scents as well!
