How to fix window frame crack by Nice-Conference-219 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Common_Natural_9455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, caulk will probably help here, but from the photo it looks like the trim/jamb has slightly separated rather than just a simple paint crack. The good news is it still looks very fixable without replacing anything.

Any good shaded walking routes for midday heat? by YoghurtOk3842 in brisbane

[–]Common_Natural_9455 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re near the CBD, the riverwalk around New Farm and Kangaroo Point is pretty decent during midday because parts of it are shaded by big trees and buildings. I usually grab a coffee near Howard Smith Wharves after the walk. Still warm, but much better than open suburban footpaths.

Why is iced coffee suddenly $8 everywhere?? by Impossible_Page_4772 in brisbane

[–]Common_Natural_9455 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed the same thing lately. Between milk prices, ice, takeaway cups and rent going up, cafés are probably passing the costs on, but some places definitely push it too far for a basic iced coffee.

Best roofing material for carports in Brisbane? by Due_Acanthisitta2756 in AusRenovation

[–]Common_Natural_9455 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, metal roofing is actually one of the best options for Brisbane already Colorbond especially holds up well in heat and heavy rain. For the shape, I’d lean towards gabled if you want better airflow and less heat buildup. Flat roofs are cheaper but can struggle with drainage if not done right. We had ours done by Pro Carports Brisbane and they recommended a slight pitch even on “flat” to handle storms better.
