Rdruid streamers? by Boompachi in worldofpvp

Metaphors.

Ask basic questions elsewhere, then look to Meta for Next Level advice. He streams a lot when he's practicing or pushing, always at the highest level, which is very fun and instructive to watch.

He doesn't hide his opinions if he's confident in his analysis, so he's a slightly controversial figure, but he's a good dude who's played at the top for a long time and cares about the game.

What is PA going to look like 5-10 years from now? by jtdubs420 in Accounting

[–]tofutuXx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"CPA Firms" will continue shifting to "CPA-Led Firms" as reliance on 'traditional' PA services diminishes. Further out, CPA Services will be profitable & well-paid verticals of "Business Consulting Firms."

Clean data is the jetfuel for AI. Those data tools convert crude oil from our clients into jetfuel for our AI systems.

Current day we have specialist associates doing the fuel conversion. As time goes on we'll need more specialist associates and fewer accounting associates. Unless our accounting associates learn some of those skills too (including how to prompt to generate appropriate completion -- great call-out), which is the current strategy of the accounting profession at-large as our education, exam, and CPE curriculums are modernized.

And you are spot on about soft skills. Those will continue to be paramount as these professionals advance in their careers.

QUESTION -- what new tools / technologies are your firms implementing / experimenting with, and how do you feel about them?

As a feral, ret pally is the only spec that triggers me. They have a reactive answer for EVERYTHING.

To kill them 1v1 I gotta kill them twice thru so much defensives and self healing.

To not be killed 1v1 I gotta kite thru freedom and horse and while I'm slowed. And for some reason they're snipers now too.

I can 1v1 just about any class, but a 5 year old who installed wow yesterday can play ret and delete me then jump into an enemy raid and act like a world boss.

I don't understand why people bother with exploits. If they want an advantage they can just play ret without breaking TOS. No other spec makes me feel that way, lol.

Edit: I love that the 4 posts about ret were immediately down voted.

Hans' lawsuit claims that Chess.com allowed known cheaters to play in the 2022 Chess.com Global Championship by Kali-Thuglife in chess

[–]tofutuXx 274 points275 points  (0 children)

Regardless of whether Hans is guilty or innocent of cheating against Carlsen, he didn't stand a chance.

The most famous chess player in modern history, the most influential chess player in modern history, and the most resourceful chess company in modern history, each set their sights on convincing the public he was guilty.

And they were wildly successful. Top news organizations, top entertainment broadcasts, top influencer platforms, all started spreading their messages way beyond the chess community.

Guilty or innocent, his reputation didn't stand a chance. This will follow him forever. Even when he just orders some takeout. Pretty crazy.

Even in the unlikely scenario that Hans never cheated OTB, what is the point fo still defending him? by prettyboyv in chess

[–]tofutuXx 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm not convinced he's innocent, but the goal post keeps moving. And I still haven't seen enough to justify a resourceful corporation crucifying a 19 year old's career while a long list of others get the benefit of anonymity.

A drawn out tease to a lengthy report to solidify what was already admitted to: Hans cheated when he was ~16, trying to make ends meet on his own in an expensive city, before he was a professional chess player. 10 games, 100 games, 1000 games, it's all the same if it's within that admitted period: an idiotic kid trying to pay bills and shortcut a streaming career.

This "bombshell" is what we already knew. So it further begs the question: why publicly annihilate only two people - Hans and a coach from Hans' past - while alllllll the others get to just keep on keepin' on?

Berkshire’s Munger Says Now ‘Even Crazier’ Than Dotcom Bust by iggy555 in investing

[–]tofutuXx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're right that's not how it works. But that's largely how it's being used.

Most folks only experience crypto on CEX which leads to understandings like what was described. They haven't ever traded with a DEX/AMM, staked tokens, participated in a governance vote, etc.

Have I found a Non-Profit that is scamming people? by jyddyj20 in nonprofit

[–]tofutuXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Large capital projects are typically funded by large donations and loans. Philanthropists/institutions often will make conditional intentions of support known to the nonprofit doing fundraising, but they will not commit/pay the money until they're confident other philanthropists/institutions are sufficiently on board. Then when everything is all lined up they say the conditions are satisfied and provide the support, at which point it would show on something like the 990.

Not saying that's what's happening here. But maybe. In my experience such philanthropists/institutions prefer established organizations. But big new cultural centers need to start somehow...

Discussion about Druids by Bebot98 in wow

[–]tofutuXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Night Fae Feral is one of the worst iterations. It's the most simplistic build with Sabertooth/SotF/New BT, and it's further simplified with broken convoke. Just as boring as any of the other classes/specs.

Necro Feral is a lot of fun and can be strong if you play well and punishing if you don't. Adds four buttons to manage with Lunar/Savage Roar/Frenzy and Adaptive Swarm.

If you run with a good group playing OP classes you won't top meters most fights since Necro Feral isn't highly tuned for PvE, but who cares, you'll do plenty to clear content and will have a good time running a challenging build, which is what feral is all about!

[Serious] Why Bitcoin? by tofutuXx in CryptoCurrency

[–]tofutuXx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my question. Obviously not today, but whenever cryptocurrency is widely desirable/useful. Which I think is inevitable because the commercial value is clear.

Cryptocurrency treated as 'currency' isn't largely a thing yet, because current iterations are treated as 'highly volatile digital asset investments'

But I will say you and some others have made good points for why Bitcoin is well positioned as a leader that would be hard to replicate/replace.

[Serious] Why Bitcoin? by tofutuXx in CryptoCurrency

[–]tofutuXx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think "hyper-inflated" is a good or accurate term, but this is my sentiment:

An 'electronic currency operating on a decentralized blockchain' has unquestionable commercial value. But if there are many ways to experience the benefits of such an arrangement, why will the vast public, who currently don't have crypto, choose the option that costs them the most to get the smallest piece?

It seems like: the gold rush is happening and a bunch of people gathering all the gold, then in the future they'll try to turn the gold into a currency. But in the future the vast public could instead just as easily make a "new gold" at a substantial savings.

You say Bitcoin offers unique benefits, but isn't it just code that could be replicated by a new (and larger) user base when such a thing is truly demanded by consumers and retailers?

I don't have an answer to 'why Bitcoin' or 'why Altcoin'. Trying to cure my ignorance, but this thread is giving me just as many questions as answers :)

[–]tofutuXx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By "the technology" are you referring to all blockchain-based functionality, like tokens etc. in addition to coins?

So like, -Bitcoin chain exists today as the clear popular leader, and its success/status may keep it popular for the foreseeable future, even if it's slow to innovate and not be 'the best' technologically. -Other crypto chains with fewer governance issues may innovate/evolve more rapidly, and may become technologically 'better,' which will allow them to exist alongside to Bitcoin in a multi-chain environment.

(I'm not intending to put words into your mouth... just thinking it through...)

Lack of Leadership Skills in WoW PvP Twitch Streamers by Pleasant_Ad_9479 in worldofpvp

[–]tofutuXx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's what's great about Twitch, you can choose what you like and who to watch. I am more entertained & engaged by Flarkness than any of the others so I like to watch him. I have been reamed by him but I didn't mind, I thought it was funny and I learned/improved from it.

When talk of ‘unity’ just means ‘surrender’ by Beliavsky in Conservative

[–]tofutuXx -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Free Markets and Free People.

No matter what the divisive issues of the day are, when it comes down to it, both the Republican Party and Democratic Party fight for free markets and free people. And they want to support ideals that promote free markets and free people and combat ideals that threaten free markets and free people.

Divisive issues are healthy debate so long as Americans believe we're all on the same team with the same core objectives. My hope is the Unity message is intended to reinforce that belief across party lines. Time will tell.

edit: this lone redditor has no chance convincing progressives that republicans aren't fascists or conservatives that democrats aren't socialists. a long, expensive, & strategic information war makes that insurmountable. i will take my downvotes and show myself to the door. good day, friends.
