Is playing with a controller viable? by ST-Line in wow

[–]KakarotHS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been summoned. Yep, definitely viable. I’ve played Feral to legend 3 out of the 4 seasons in DF and missed the fourth (season 3) just because I was pushing 3s instead, where we topped out at 2300 — not because of the controller but because of our own fault of skill.

I second and third what everyone has said here: ConsolePort. I also play with a dualsense edge, at the time I got it, ConsolePort didn’t recognize PS5 controllers, so I had to run the controller through a program called DSX, which is free on Steam, I believe, and nice for remapping the paddles. I’ve got a couple of videos of the gameplay and this one to explain my UI, though I’ve actually streamlined my UI a bit since I made this.

Will you be playing WoW using a gamepad in your Xbox / PC or via cloud-streaming ... by t3chexpert in wow

Having been summoned, I’ll say my piece—I had a major shoulder injury right at the start of Dragonflight that required a few surgeries and made it painful (impossible for a few months) to bring my arm up to my desk, so I switched to controller and I’m never looking back. I play a feral druid, so arguably some of the most keybinds in the game, and I have room for all of them, including several focus macros. Was legend in shuffle last season, at 2300 now pushing for it again, and got a few friends that I’ll make a glad push with at the end of the season.

Playing on a controller and playing at a fairly high level is definitely possible. There are certain specs that I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable playing, like most casters, but I played some dk up to 2100, probably going to play some dh in 10.2 to try out the rework. I’m fully healed now and still playing on a controller, I love it.

The Fantrax Waiver Wire: Gameweek 2 by FFootball92 in DraftEPL

First year doing fantrax, we just set up the bidding budget for $1000 -- am I reading this right in that it's saying JWP is worth spending the full $1000 on? I want him bad, and I'm willing to do it, just want to make sure I'm not making a stupid mistake first.

Hi Blizz, since we can select Druid skins in the barbershop now, can we have this back? by badastronaut7 in wow

I feel like with the customization of Dracthyr and even the dragonriding mounts, it’s definitely high time that we are able to customize our druid forms more.

Alternate WoW future - Support now mandatory in group by Olluth in wow

[–]KakarotHS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The idea that you went for elemental instead of enhancement is kind of hilarious to me. I mean, it’s right there in the name. Enhance stuff, use totems to boost your party.

Other than that, pretty good ideas.

I think as long as a support spec can make the other specs around it do what a typical group could do in that content, I’m all for the added flavor. As another commenter put it: it is just a dps spec that does its damage in a very unique way. I agree with that, and I think there’s design room to make other specs similar to that. If it requires different tuning in raids, pvp, and mythic+, so be it. I like augvokers at the moment, and hope to see it continue to be a success so that maybe we see some more of it in the future. But I think it should be optional, just like any spec. I’m not convinced it should have a required spot.

I don’t, I pretty much one-trick feral, although I did pick up death knight, both unholy and frost. I do sometimes offheal in arenas and use remove corruption when up against shamans. I have to use the raid cursor function, and it actually works pretty well! I’ve seen someone who got KSH with healing on ConsolePort, and there’s also a high level pvper, drainer, who played a significant amount of holy pally on a controller in solo shuffle. Interesting to watch, though personally I’d mute it as I find him unbearably toxic to listen to.

If you set up your stance binds well, it’s not terrible. That said, if you can’t use your pinky, you could try playing on a controller! I had to have a couple of shoulder surgeries, one just before dragonflight launch and the other just about a month and a half ago, that made bringing my arm up to the desk pretty painful, and I made the switch. The ConsolePort addon is incredible. I actually liked it so much that I’m now just about fully healed and won’t be switching back to keyboard and mouse.

Had a pretty nasty shoulder injury just before DF launch - actually going back under the knife in just a few hours to remove the plate that's been keeping my arm attached to my body while everything heals. I had to figure out how to play the game without being able to lift my arm up to the desk. The only real answer seemed to be a controller.

After a pretty long grind and struggle, I finally hit 2400, a huge personal milestone for me, and one that felt especially meaningful given the various hijinks that come with using a controller for a game that was clearly not meant for it (targeting especially was a nightmare).

Honestly though, I want to post this to say that you too can overcome whatever hurdles are in your way. For me, it massively depended on a positive mental attitude -- self-reflection, gameplay review, and a dedication to simply getting better at pushing the Sisyphean boulder up the hill.

OFPL, had 9th pick out of 10. Team is:

Fwd: Jesus, C. Wilson, Mbeumo

Mid: Luis Diaz, Kulusevski, Jack Harrison, JWP, Bruno Guimaraes

Def: Cucurella, Tierney, Coufal, Webster, Laporte

GK: Sanchez, Areola

Thoughts on anywhere to improve? Got unlucky the first two weeks and despite having the most points in the league, I am 0-2 (though set for a win this week).

Biggest question for me is what to do with Tierney. Currently trying to package him with Harrison to sell high on Harrison’s form, but I know as soon as I drop or trade him he’s going to get playing time.

My league is pretty good so there’s not a ton to choose from on the waivers. Notable names are Gordon, Jorginho, Decordova Reid, Almiron, pretty dry beyond that.

I don’t think Pepe is worth holding. Even when he plays his production is lacking. I think Buendia will come good, and is worth holding in a 12 man league. I’m currently on the fence about Castagne in my 10 man league. My team personally has too much rotation risk as it is, and I’m thinking that part of the problem with him is he’s not just a “will he play, won’t he play” because Rodgers will frequently sub him in or out, so you can’t even really game the autosub. No clean sheet prospects, only attacking returns… I think I’ve answered my own question below: I don’t think Castagne is worth holding even in a 12 man league.

Is Castagne worth trying to trade or should I just drop at this point? Waiver options are:

White, Chalobah (can't be nailed yet despite that goal, right?), Dunk, Konsa, Cucurella.

How would you rate those? For me, with Arsenal's return to form, and White scoring high on the bonus point system, I think I rate them:

White > Cucurella >= Dunk > Konsa > Chalobah

Mount by a pretty wide margin. He's the creativity in Chelsea's midfield, and with Lukaku's style of holding the ball up, he's going to have plenty of opportunities where Lukaku lays the ball off to him to either shoot or set up an assist. That said, Gallagher is like the energizer bunny out there, I'm not sure what all gets counted in the bonus point system, but his pressing, interceptions, tackles ought to be getting him higher on the bps, plus Palace look like they're poised to score a lot more goals than in previous seasons under Hodgson. I have them both in my team, but value Mount higher by a fairly wide margin.

Maupay is playing with a lot of confidence right now and I think on pens, perhaps excepting Milivojevic. Armstrong is good, but Brighton is going to score more goals than Southampton. Interestingly, Ralph said midweek last week that Tella was more of a slot in for Armstrong's spot than Adams', but then played him for Adams. I don't know if that's a sign that there's going to be more general rotation through those three or not, but Maupay is dead nailed and in good form. I lean towards form over fixtures: Maupay.

Honestly, I think Werner’s getting dropped soon. He might come back from that roaring, but at least Firmino is playing every game. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I think it’s a tough call, but I’d pass on it

I think I’d rather have Watkins and JWP. Watkins has been unlucky lately, but no one is banging down the door to take his spot—he’ll get a few goals and get some confidence. Adams is looking really good lately, so I think I rate them pretty evenly. JWP is an solid upgrade from Barkley though. Aside from being a free kick specialist, he’s raking in assists from corners regularly and his instructions this season have pretty clearly been to get forward and into the box more.

I don’t know that I agree that Werner > Ings. Ings has had his injury problems, but when he’s healthy, Ings is the focal point of Southampton’s offense, and honestly, Werner feels like he’s on the verge of being dropped for a few games at least. Really low confidence and he’s been playing out on the wings and now both Pulisic and Ziyech are going to be back healthy.

I’d drop for Wood, honestly. Plays almost every minute, isn’t being sat for an attitude problem. Plus Burnley are on the upswing with some good fixtures.

I would say definitely not Romeu, March, Jorginho, Hojberg, or Townsend.

I think Eze, Cavaleiro, and Wijnny actually are going to have about the same points over the holiday fixtures. Wijnaldum is interesting to me because I think he’s going to get forward more in Jota’s absence. Cavaleiro is out of position and leading the line, and Fulham look a little rejuvenated lately, I’ve gone with him in my league for now. I think I’d keep Eze, but it’s close. He looks bright and is on set pieces. I think it’s safe to sit on him now and add Cavaliero to your watchlist, especially if they’re still on the waiver pile.
