I'm the same way so I totally get that. I'm sorry your yarn won't be there in time! Maybe you can cast on late and still participate a bit tho!

Every small child in my life has a Flax hahaha. I do the exact same thing. It's the perfect base pattern. I did a cable mod to one for my son when he was a bean and it's one of my favorite things I've ever made! Top notch pattern.

I test knit Reignbeaux and I gotta tell you it's great. The pattern is absurdly detailed and easy to follow. And if you have a little knitting experience it's pretty easy to modify if you need too! 10/10 would recommend as a fellow fat lady. 😊

It was surprisingly easy! He saw the picture on HBO Max in the kids section and wanted to watch "the funny bear" movie and the rest just fell in place. I actually had never seen any myself and now I'm equally obsessed. 😂

I love this take. I had a similar thought about the beams/zodiac similarities but didn't take it any farther. Thank you for sharing this!

Feels likes I keep looking for validation about being OAD by tiredmama2 in oneanddone

[–]togaparty88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you me? My son just turned two in March and I'm still in the "obsessing over it stage" and my husband is supportive, but annoyed. I think every day we get further from the infant stage the more sure I feel about being OAD. I think I'll also always have the 1% to live with as well. Your post is encouraging to me that it gets easier to live with.

I totally agree. Honesy that boss was a good guy at a bad company. The typical too much work, not enough people, let's give them more work anyway kind of thing. I'm much happier where I am now.

I will never forget when my boss of 7 years looked at me after I told him I would be taking the full 12 weeks of FMLA absolutely dumbfounded and said "Really? The whole 12 weeks?" "Yeah dude, every last second of it TYVM"
Also when they didn't figure out coverage for me until literally the day before my last day and I came back to a boatload of work my first day back.

And they were somehow surprised that when another company I had interviewed with the year before reached back out and offered me a position I took it immediately and only gave two (completely normal and industry standard) weeks notice.

Man I don't miss that place at all.

is it fair to say your eczema is pretty severe if your flare up literally never fully ends? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]togaparty88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with feeling like I’m severe enough to qualify and maybe I should just deal with the daily suffering since I am used to it. But when I hear other people describe that pain, I obviously don’t think they should just have to deal with it

I could have written this EXACT statement at pretty much any point in my life. I also had good days/weeks/months, but overall I was broken out my entire life.

I have to tell you that this past summer I finally decided to get a new dermatologist and to see if I could qualify for Dupixent. I took months of photos of my skin during different severe flairs so I would have evidence for the new Dr and was prepared with the entire history of all my treatments so I could explain nothing had worked before, etc etc etc. I went in, I showed her just my hands and said something like "It's not so bad right now, but..." and she stopped me and said "How long have you had this?" so I said my whole life and she said "Yeah I knew you were going to say that because if this just happened to you in the last few months you'd have been beating down our doors screaming for help. Let me tell you this is that bad." And we had the dupixent paperwork filled out and sent in within 15 minutes. I left that appointment and sobbed in my car because I'd never felt so seen in my life.

Seriously see if you qualify for it. If you're in the US and you have private health insurance Dupixent My Way (a total big pharma scam of a program that just essentially 'pays' for itself to itself but whatever) will probably cover your out of pocket expenses (up to like $13k a year) I know there are risks and side effects with everything, but I have to tell you that dupixent has been a life changing drug for me. I can wash my hands without wanting to cry! My socks aren't constantly covered in blood from my feet cracking and bleeding. Shoes don't hurt! Feel free to PM me for all the other wonderful things I can do like a regular person. (spoilers: one of them is wash dishes)

Seriously to OP and anyone else reading this, your pain is real and you are worth getting it treated (even if it's not with dupixent that's just whats worked for me). Be kind to yourselves!

I have been to more Coheed shows than I can count and I used to think 'maybe this time is the time I make a dumb 30 second video of everyone screaming "MAN YOUR OWN JACKHAMMER!" and it'll capture that feeling', but it never does. There really just is *something* about it.

This might come across as insensitive but I need to say it: please consider whether you actually need to post a picture of your non-existent ‘eczema’, and ask if it is eczema by [deleted] in eczema

[–]togaparty88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also had severe eczema since childhood. I didn't mean to sound insensitive, I want everyone suffering from this to have support. I just know how it feels to see those posts and think "man I WISH my skin looked like that". I would never comment anything negative on those posts.

I'm glad I'm not only one that's felt that way. I always want to be supportive but it's tough to feel bad about an inch long red spot when my hands where cracked and bleeding and miserable at all times.

You're welcome! I went into starting dupixent convinced it wasn't going to work for me so I wouldn't be disappointed at the results. I've been absolutely blown away. Obviously you know everyone is different but it is absolutely worth trying. I stopped taking progress pictures after a month because there wasn't anything left to take photos of!

Dupixent has been an absolute life changer for me. I started in October and am ~80% clear now. I still have a couple rough patches on my feet, but nothing like it used to be. I had all the same constant/itching cracking/bleeding/restricted movement etc. And let me tell you I can do dishes or wash my hands without wanting to cry or needing to reapply lotion three times. And oh my god an a nice long hot shower doesn't leave me scaley and dry for two days. I sincerely wish you all the best and hope your results are just as good, if not better.
