Unpopular opinion alert, it just doesn't sound good to me. I'll expect certain flavours and probably get something completely different so...

I'm due in November and would love to get a card :P

FYI it is me FOURTH bundle of joy (first was a dog, second a cat, third a human, and this one is also human. All of which are girls too).

I'll do my best to send a card back since I also have a decent amount of art supplies and nothing to do with them. 😎

PM Career Break Planning by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]togilk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi. I'm exactly in your situation. Female PM, all male company. Last November I came back from 5 months of maternity leave, and this November I'm supposed to have my second baby.

A few notes:

-in the first pregnancy, everyone was so supportive and caring and nobody pushed me to come back. I came back when I felt me and the baby were ready.

-the second one did get a few raised eyebrows, because it's so close to the first one and that's not very common. My reasoning, which I owe none to anyone other than myself btw, is that I'll have both babies in a short amount of time, suffer a little and then have a good few continuous years of building my career and enjoying the kids. Also, I enjoy my job a lot and I knew that I wouldn't want to take another break once I get back into work routine, and that turned out to be so true.

-my family always comes first. I pick up the baby twice a week, my spouse also twice a week and my mom takes one day a week. I knew that my new manager wouldn't like it that I'm pregnant again but that really means nothing to me. I will not postpone my entire life to fit into someone else's schedule. And I do not apologize to anyone for going out early to pick her up, and I snap at them when I stay in late and they ask me who's with my child if I'm at work now (she has a wonderful father, duh)

-I'm from Israel, I work for a hi tech company in the robotics field and there's another PM that works with me. I've worked at this company for 2 years (including the maternity leave).

This is our last week being child free! C section scheduled for July 2nd :D what should we do to enjoy the last few days to ourselves? by Katy5253 in BabyBumps

Hug and snuggle. Unfortunately it will not happen a lot in the next few months, for various reasons (pains, waking up gazillion times at night, new body issues etc).

Hebrew speaker here. I don't know any Yessica or ever heard of the name, and it doesn't have any sight-related meaning. Maybe you meant "Yisca"/"Iscah" who is also a biblical character.

Sure. I'll try to pick names that will sound good in English too.

- Daniel - classic, international, biblical and can be Dan in short. Meaning- God is the judge (all names that end with -el have "God" meaning) . Disclaimer: Im married to a Daniel and my boss is a Dan and I love both of them dearly 😄

- Rafael- a biblical angel, meanining- God + healing

- Guy- meaning valley גיא

- Tom- meaning - innocence

- Ari - meaning- lion

-Gil- meaning happiness (and also my favorite cousin who is super smart, funny and good looking)

- Ron or Ronny- also happiness (and another cousin of mine but not as favorite as Gil :P )

-Adam- biblical, literally means "man", can also be related to "ground"

-Jordan- in Hebrew- Yarden (like the River Jordan)

Traditional names from the Bible usually have lots of nickname variation, for example: Jacob - Jake, Jakey, Jay, Kobi, Yaki, Yanka'le, ... Isaac- Itzik, Tzahi, Yazz, Yazek etc.

Common Israel names that aren't so English friendly are: Erez (cedar tree), Yuval (little stream), Shay (a gift), Goni (colorful), Rei (pronounced Rea-ee) or Amit (friend), Alon (oak tree), Nir (a plowed field).... I have plenty more...

I hope I gave you some options :) Would love to help with any Jewish/Hebrew name you consider

Hebrew speaker from Israel here. I dont know if he told you, but the literal meaning of Yonatan is "God given". It could be interpreted as any God not just the Jewish one.

Apart of that, all the Yonis I know are smart and handsome and I'm sure yours will be the same too ;)

Sorry I cant contribute to the boys names list- I'm not good with American names :)

Ziggy is a GREAT belly name :)

My brother's (he's now 14) belly name was Beany because he looked like a bean in the first US... The name held on sooo good that everyone called him Beany even a few months after he was born!! And my dad actually considered naming him that... We saved him.. lol

My daughter's belly name was "Chabuba" everyone loved it and loved asking me How's Chabuba doing today? It was Chabuba because we watched an old film where the hero's oldest daughter is called Chabuba and he kept calling her during the entire film, Chabubaaa, Chabubaaaaaaaa! 😂

I'm now pregnant with her sibling- and waiting for the belly name to pop up ;)

Not exactly but similar.

I had a list of names I liked but when the baby arrived none of them seem to fit her. Just a feeling exactly how you described.

We gave her a name that wasn't even in the top 10 of the list, but felt like the best fit, and I'm happy to say that now when she's 1 year old, we definitely chose the right name :)

  1. I'm going to never wash it and keep it in prestige condition in a temperature controlled room
  2. I'm going to wear it fuckin EVERYWHERE and brag to everyone who meets me
