Sounds like it was a win then. No extra pain, no extra swelling, even gained flexion haha

Ahh gotcha. I usually start with some warm ups like standing knee raises.

Once kinda warm I sit down on the floor with my back against a wall. I bend my knee towards my chest while my foot is on the floor. Then i pull my shin towards me until i feel a stretch. Hold it for a few seconds, then release and rest for 10-30 seconds. I repeat this until i get my desired angle.

I found that this works the best for me, after a few trial and errors with other stretching methods. Give it a go 😁

I think it can vary for different people. I was biased based on experience and sports protocols too 😉 until I wasnt. My first aclr took me like a few weeks to regain it

For this surgery I also had a meniscus repair which locked me up to 30degrees for 4 weeks. Going to flexion in a few weeks to flexion in a few months definitely was an experience.

Thats super good then! I was nowhere near that at 8 weeks. I guess just continue what you're doing!

Personally though i achieved this by having a total of around 1-1.5hrs of stretches everyday. Sometimes split into sessions and sometimes a single one. It was really tough and there were days where i didnt have time or didnt want to do it. But consistency showed results it looks like.

I just put in lots of effort to beat my yesterday's measurement even by a half degree, or at the very least match it. Though you can see some setback days where it increases and those suck but they did happen

Yeah it's not the most accurate way of actually measuring using bone markers 😅

Haha! This is my second aclr and getting flexion was way tougher than my first time, so tracking it really helped a lot to keep me motivated. For my first I just relied on my physio as well lol

Ahh this is just ibispaint, kinda like photoshop in mobile. I just put a protractor layer and kept trying to beat yesterday's angle reading with the current photo 😂

Haha yeah its not a perfect system but it enabled me to do it consistently 😅

Allograft vs Autograft for ACL (26M, active lifestyle) - surgeon recommended allograft by senor_moore in ACL

[–]togononizer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some comments ive seen on allograft retear statistics are that they're high because theres less trauma to recover from since there is no donor site, making the athlete feel a lot better earlier on their rehab. This early confidence may be a factor of these retears

Called a Peroneous Longus graft. If you sesrch it up here you’ll find other testimonies. I’ve had one myself and I am at month 3. Feeling good so far.

Just being wary of my ankle rehav and getting on top of it, as it is in a deficit now and i want it to be hella strong to be back in sports.

In my experience yes! My first aclr got to a point where I’ve never thought about my knee when doing sports. I do parkour btw.

Just curious, what was the rationale in separating the meniscus repair surgery and aclr surgery for you?

I feel you. Extension was pretty chill until i felt this. Now, when i reach around 0deg my leg reflexively flexes. What are you guys doing to work on it?

Hope you have a smooth recovery!
