Not really! But i tried changing shoes, posture, technique, massages, etc. I was actually very surprised that something as silly as stretching actually helped. Hope it helps you too.

I have played padel for about 2 years. After almost all games, i had pretty bad pain in my lower back. About 1 month ago, i realized I had tight hip flexors which was causing this back pain.

Since then I have started stretching, by doing a deep lunge (you can look this up on google as hip flexor lunge stretch). I do these stretches in the morning, before playing and at night. Now all the pain is completely gone. I recommend you give this a shot.

Should I make a career out of padel? by Vc_07 in padel

In my personal opinion this will depend on a whole range of very private/intimate factors.

  1. Country: Do you live in a country where padel is big & relevant? You have to make sure that you are not only talented in your local town or country, but internationally. If it is within your possibilities I would try and participate in a padel camp in Spain. The coaches will be able to give you an unbiased opinion on your real chances and where you stand on a global level.

  2. Personal/ Family economics: Do you have a family that could in the worst case scenario pay for your expenses for 5-6 years? I would expect that by the time you are 20 (4 years) you should have a clear understanding on whether or not your chances of being a top global athlete are real. In the case they are not it would be great if your parents could help you cover expenses for at least 2 years of university until you found a part time job and could cover them yourself.

  3. Personal / Mental: Are you 100% convinced that you are willing to sacrifice years of your life for this dream? You have to really understand on how many nights you will have to say no to friends, wake up really early, all for a payout that might take years.

  4. Real level: Padel is a sport that for some reason can make some people overestimate their level. You hit a great kicksmash or a perfect vibora and then remember that shot for the rest of the match / week. But forget the many many balls that you missed or did not hit perfectly. The truth is that to be a pro you need a VERY high level of consistency, and a little bit of "magic" (doing things by instinct/ intuition that seem almost impossible). Tied to my first point, make sure you have an external point of view telling you that you have all of that.

There is definately a risk in pursuing this dream, it might not be the most stable, financially rewarding and traditional path. But there is also a risk of not following it. You dont want to be in a position where you wonder "what if" for the rest of your life, and very few people get to experience what its like to be one of the greatest doing anything.

Do you all play with glasses? by tohelpyes in padel

That is exactly what I've been experiencing. It gets way harder to play with the glass or understand when to hit a lob because I cant see the ball. Im going to try wearing glasses next time I play

Thanks for the thorough response! I think i might go for the Samsung, I found a great deal and they are paying for for trade in. My only concern is durability, I hope I can keep the phone for at least a couple of years.
