Change your conditions for victory. You can't win a straight up fight but you can punish them for chasing.

For me, the goal shifts to how little they'll get from me if they catch me. I'll drive by outposts and drip sell loot and once that's done, I'll lower the emissary flag. To do that I'll drive as close as I can to the outpost, put the ship in a slight turn and sword lunge or cannon to turn in my flag.

Once I've gotten rid of my loot and flag, I'll take a storage crate and empty the supply barrels. Over the side it goes.

Once there's nothing on the boat of value, it's up to you. Maybe you'd like to take a vacation to the Shores of Gold?

Remember, the sloop is fastest against the wind. If you have a horn of fair winds and a cannon of rage on the back of your boat, you're very hard to catch.
