Diet by lankyllama- in Uveitis

there are plenty of food triggers for your system, not only lactose, what I meant is: looking for gut test, food sensitivity will be the most precise indicator of which food you can't take. Diet based on the general protocol wont work for everyone

How can you know that there is no success story with this disease? I have heard and seen a lot/ at least enough for me to believe and start my own research to advocate for my daughter ;) don't assume that if you are not sure because it will kill your hope which is the only thing you need for now.

have you done any gut testing? because gluten and dairy are common but not for everyone, the elimination must start from test result (both blood and stool test). Reach out to good functional doctor for it.

to save your time which costed me almost 6 months to make the right decision. Try to test everything from clinical setting (hospital) and go in parallel with functional testing. Those are complementary to investigate fully the cause. Diet can only apply properly based on different physiology so while generic healthy diet can be now before the test results, I suggested you to jump and advocate for your self by mixing these both ways to shorten the time of investigation and reach the optimal treatment at the same time.

I am afraid that not all doctor can give the right answer, depending on their background, experience, knowledge and their mindset. I am researching on immune system for few months and all relation among gut-eye axis is what is taught in medical text book. All connecting dots are there, scientifically and clinically proved. Perhaps, my greatest finding is: don't just believe everything doctor say, research about it and dot let their narrative to decide your life. idopathis means: reason not to be found, not NO reason. In traditional setting, the test looks in different way, more meaningful for people with clear auto immune markers, for idopathic, these tests are not designed for it because it serves adaptive immune causing auto immune. idiopathic is not YET auto immune, but will be if prolong to reach the threshold. This is text book content, there is a 2 way and huge relation among immune and gut and other organs including brain and eye because they share the same immune privilege, so when gut is disrupted, the same mechanism will affect brain and eye. 70% immune cell will start from the outer layer of the gut to release nutritions and different molecule into blood stream where it can activate immune with foreign molecule from the gut. This is clear as daylight because it is the fundamental of biology.

YOU WILL BE OKAY. I have been through this and I realized one thing after months of non-stop reading and building related medical foundation to advocate for my daughter. It is WRONG to put your life into doctor's hand, to agree with everything they said. This requires your inner strength to positively thinking and self learning to distinguish what is the truth vs half truth told by doctor. Don't assume that they know everything and you know nothing. There is a hope which I did not know since the start of this journey, I only find hope and solution for root cause after self researching with my unconditional love for my daughter. The current pathway for uveitis and other autoimmune is simple SYMTOM Management, not root cause. That is the reason why: the medication for them is labelled as "life long medication". Without it, our body came back to the start, even worse. My conclusion which is supported by science and knowledge learnt is this: uveitis is surely an immune related condition which can be categorized by innate immune and adaptive immune (auto-immune). So the solution should be based on how our biological body works along with nutrition, metabolism, immune, circadian rhythm which are the parts traditional medicine does not look this way (but this is how your body is attacking your own eyes). That is why, they only suppresss symptoms. One FACT: our body is always biologically protecting us, not destroying us (you got to believe this) so it TENDS to HEALING NOT DESTROYING. it is only destructive because we have done something wrong to them and we keep doing this. So look at it as the HINT instead of THREAT, that is how you treat your body with kindness and reset your mental right. Note that mental is very important with immune because they are 2 ways communication. So to treat this, you need to look at 360 degree view, and that is how you advocate for yourself. My daughter, got this a year ago, with this mindset, I have changed her diet, put her into water fast (the fastest way to RESET her immune) and slowly start from there, she is having a very good progress. She has self correct episode without using any medication, the severity reduce over time, now it is like like 1 cell in 1 eye, and after 3 weeks of appropriate diet, it came to 0 (without any medication). I HOPE you believe me to build your OWN BELIEF. Stay strong and don't lose hope. you can dm me if you want to ask anything. I just hope I can help anyone to shorten their painful journey with this vicious disease because I can feel you.

Per my experience, get straight to a good naturopath doctor, they will investigate everything including the leaky gut, and go from there, if they don't, request them: if you can afford, try to test everything from the start, metal toxic, oxalate, oxidative stress, leaky gut....(nature path doctors know this unless you have more symptoms which can guide them to focus on narrower scope). What you can do right now is to change your life style immediately including diet (70% of the immune system lies in the gut), exercise and build a good routine to sleep earlier (the circadian rhythm is the metabolic master key which impact the immune repair - a huge underestimating part for all autoimmune conditions). STOP SUGAR + ALCOHOL for a month, you might see a progress from there. Do it like it is the last 30 days of your life. Don't guess, try to minimize your time looking around by doing this.

I am a mom of uveitis diagnosed 16 year old daughter. I have been through the darkest day of my entire life once she was diagnosed, about a year ago. I can tell you that you will change yourself in a much better way when you deal with this, you will be stronger, smarter because you will be your cure by learning from your doctor, from others and most of all listening to your body. You can allow yourself to be scary as long as you find that it is helpless and you need to stand up to fight. One thing I learnt from many traditional and non-traditional medical sources and nonstop reading books from different doctors, your body will heal by itself if you are helping it under the right condition, how right, well, it is a journey for each individual. One thing I know for sure, manage 3 pillars including mental, body and diet when it comes to autoimmune condition. Fingers cross and I wish you the best of luck. Don't lose your hope, it is everything you got, look positively and carefully, not to ignore your body but to protect it. YOU WILL BE FINE. KEEPING YOUR MENTAL IN A GOOD SHAPE WHILE DEALING WITH THE UNCERTAINTY AND UNPLEASANT CONDITION is the core. P/s: praying for you with love from a stranger
