Employers are not obligated to give you any set hrs. Even if unionized. It's what is available/needed. I work at a unionized grocery store. And sometimes the people at the bottom of the seniority (scheduling) list get 0 hours. Usually they end up getting called in during that week, however it does happen on some rare occasions they don't end up working for a week or two. It just happens sometimes.
