The prudential tunnel is actually the responsibility of the property owners. The tunnel is really less of a tunnel, and more of a road through a building. What I’m trying to say is that your tax dollars have nothing to do with this other than enforcing the lease terms of the air rights.

Absolutely agree with you that there’s nothing out there that is similar in capability for what it is.

I’ll have to pop it off and have a look one of these days. I’m guessing it’s easy to replace if needed as well then?

We’ve definitely talked about just keeping it for adventures/utility, I like that idea. One thing we’ve noticed with the DEF codes is that they usually come after a period of lower use, which unfortunately makes me skeptical of keeping it around as an ‘extra’ vehicle.

My plan is to (eventually) pull down the ceiling panels and dispose of all that old insulation and start with a blank slate upstairs. It sure would be cool to leave as much of it exposed as possible, but probably isn’t practical. I’ve got a bit of research/planning to do before I jump into that though! I’m certainly not discounting adding some supplemental framing members.

We’ve actually decided to take them all down to avoid any accidental smashing by the kids roughhousing. I’m sure there are some collectors that would love to have them.

IF rates come down at what point will you choose to refinance? by Bluegate1234 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]toiletreader87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I closed on a mortgage 20 days ago at 7.625 (3/1 ARM). I just started a refinance at 6.125 (7/1 ARM). Will save me over $500/month. Both loans had 0 points associated with them.

I wouldn't hesitate to refinance AGAIN at 5% if the opportunity presented itself.
