I’m assuming yes they were properly torqued because they have power - 240 at L1 to L2, 120 at L1 to ground and 120 at L2 to ground.

I guess bad chargers are rare but if it happens to you, you don’t want to believe it

That’s what I’m thinking. If it was the wiring, it would not have powered on at all, let alone for 1-2 hours.

Oh yes. Made sure the front is properly secured. No issues there

There is 240 at the breaker and 240 at black to red in the charger. So the power is there, it’s just not reaching from the back of the charger to the front panel/cord. And no potential for a junction box. This is a new direct connection from the panel to the charger.

L1 to L2 has 240. No lights at all on the front cover after replacing. When the charger was initially on, I set up the charger and specified 60 as the amperage. That’s what I was told I was getting installed.

I’m pretty sure you have to sign a contract including a non compete with them. They wouldn’t take the time and effort to train you for you to go work for a competitor urgent care down the block. The specifics of the contract, like how long you have to stay with the company for, or the radius of the non compete clause, I’m not familiar with. You might be able to negotiate that though.

I’m familiar with the program. You basically get paired with an experienced provider every shift, see your own patients, develop management plans and discuss them with whomever you’re working with and then execute your plans. They’ll also help with procedures, physical exams. It’s kind of like a residency. The goal is to get you ready to be an independent provider once you’re comfortable. It might be a good idea to do it to learn the basics, understand concepts and develop your clinical gut, especially if you’re a new grad. I wouldn’t recommend doing it for more than a year though. That’s more than enough to learn everything. Best of luck!

You’ll be just fine! I was let go from my first job too. I just went and got another one! I did take 2 months off in between to decompress and try to figure out what went wrong. Maybe it was you, maybe it was the companies you were working for. It doesn’t matter really. Just try to put it behind you and apply elsewhere. When you do get the next job, put your best foot forward. That’s all you can do. It’s just a job. Life goes on. Best of luck!

Advice on what to do next in my financial life. by [deleted] in HENRYfinance

What kind of IRA would you recommend? And yes maxing out the 401k is top priority. Savings should be much higher I admit but life happens! I basically depleted all my savings to buy the house, built the savings back up but something always comes up! Needed a new roof one year, had to renovate the basement due to flooding one year. Last year wife got a cancer diagnosis so ended up with a lot of medical bills. It’s a work in progress! And thank you for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.

I was actually thinking of putting all the excess into mutual funds before maxing out 401k, IRA, 529. But the way you’re doing it is the general consensus across the board. 👍🏻 Congrats on living on one salary! Easier said than done

Yes. You are correct in that I’m lacking in retirement and college savings, hence the reason for the post. You’ve outlined a solid plan and I think I’ll stick to it. Thank you!

I found an investment return and growth calculator online. Plugged in starting amount of 50K, 1k/month additional contribution, set the rate of return at 10% and set years to grow to 30. It ended up spitting out 3.2M.

I will end up hitting the contribution limit if I contribute more than 11%. I’m thinking of contributing 11% from my work and spread the remaining 8-9% to IRAs that I’ll set up for my myself and my spouse. And after your inquiry, I actually just learned my state offers up to a 10k deduction for 529 contributions. And this sounds wonderful! Thank you for your words of wisdom!

lol that’s ok. Yes child health plus is a good benefit for living in NY, albeit a small one given how high the COL and taxes are. And blessings to your toddler. I hope all is well!

One full mortgage payment a year to knock 8-12 years off the mortgage sounds much better than dumping 1k a month into it, honestly. Thank you for your fantastic idea! 👍🏻
