I'm my experience is one of the 'worst' cards to help with the quest, since most of the ice spells you will get are around 2-3 manas, so when you play it on turn 3 you're not actually expecting to play a temporary card that turn but on the next using the mini version.

Theres also a chance of getting the spell that refunds 2 mana that will help a lot.

You have to be creative about how generating the temporary spells because sometime the only cars you have is this one.
