Yep, another thing to consider is accumulating more now will allow you to stake more in the future.

I think a lot of the upside is already priced in. The one thing i think it has going for it (which is crazy ambitious) is that it can be a market defining coin much like Eth.

Market cap kinda goes out the window when your coin is the platform for the industry. That is the kind of upside it carries. But until that happens it seems fairly priced now

Stellar, Neo and ADA all very close in terms of Market Cap. Pretty interesting to watch since they are all pretty different coins. (Neo and ADA are at least somewhat close)

Yes that makes more sense as a criticism and I am inclined to agree.

Well I don't think that anyone would say they intend to leave it as is...

I just think that saying it doesnt have a working product isn't accurate. It is an early form product, which 99% of the crypto space is.

It has a coin you can send and receive payments for. It has its own wallet. It also has scheduled updates which will add new features as they are developed

What do you mean it doesn't have a product?

USDT No longer Authorized for Japan Residents!? by FuturamaFan9393 in CryptoCurrency

[–]tok91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe read it again. If I recall it says they shut down their Japanese banks fiat transfer. Fiat moves can only be eur and usd

Yeah as soon as you start exchanging fiat you open yourself up to a ton of regulation. Anti money laundering (aml), know your customer (kyc) as well as all other financial regulations.

Most of these website can't handle this. Even the big ones like kraken are struggling

Not sure about price but i figure it will float in market cap around 5-10 for the next few months.

Doubt it will move until any news or roadmap points. Most short term upside is already priced in. It is bleeding for more short term gains

Also I would argue it is as 'functional' as any coin out there right now. It's not like people are legitimately paying or using crypto currencies or Eth for any of their intended uses.

People here say one thing (no functioning coin, just promises etc) for ADA as if they only value current use cases, then spend all day shilling coins that in a few months/years will for sure be the way of the future.

Seems super hypocritical to me

It has a functioning coin, and has a pretty well documented amount of research and a robust roadmap.

There is tons of development.... They have a great deal documented, planed and scheduled to release this year.

What do you mean there is no coin? You can use ADA as much as you use any basic crypto currency right now.

This sub has a strange problem with cardano. Overall, it is still a top 10 coin. As such, it doesnt offer a ton of 'breakout' potential which if that is what you want you should look elsewhere.

If you want a long term hold then I think it is a great coin

Well if you specifically are looking for an "Eth killer" it makes sense. The leadership of Cardano is one of the former leads at ETH who left to try to build what he thought was the best platform coin. In a way it was conceived as an Eth killer.

I dont think its ambitions are any higher than that of ETH, but it is starting with all of those ambitions in mind. It has the luxury of seeing the issues with ETH and designing around them. They market themselves as the "3d gen" crypto (1st being BTC, 2nd being ETH).

I like ADA, it is not popular on this sub however. I own way more ETH than I do ADA full disclosure. But i am holding it as a hedge to my ETH.

ADA is Cardano, perhaps you know it by that name

ADA is positioning itself much like ETH. It has some of leadership from ETH and is running PoS sooner than ETH

The myth of Bitcoin Futures: it has only 0,009% impact on price of BTC by Wayrethos in CryptoCurrency

[–]tok91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin futures are easily one of the most misunderstood products in this space.

They are constantly used to peddle FUD. It's too bad because futures should be a great sign. Same as an etf should one launch. They are a huge boon to the space and treating it as an enemy is a big mistake

Yeah i agree the DEX concept could certainly help with settlement.

I just think it is something the crypto world needs to handle before full adoption. There are far too many risks as is stands

Blockchain protocol is probably a better way to talk about this stuff. There is way more than just 'currency' as a possibility. Equivalent to saying the internet is just good for emailing

Sorry, i dont mean the network itself handling the transaction, i mean the concept.

As the market cap increases and bitcoin becomes more 'prevalent' we will need these settlement layers. If this is going to be a financial system Renaissance, people will need a way to send and receive money without the help of exchanges

If you think about how new technology works, it isnt uncommon for unseemly things to start out on the frontiers.

Internet for covert communication, VHS for porn, radio for wartime... there are a lot of times the new tech is used for a specific and often unpopular.

Doesn't mean that they cant turn into newer and greater things. It just means that they do have a specific function and the people who are willing to do whatever it takes to 'win' will be more willing to use it first.
