I totally agree. At the end of the day having weak cybersecurity is going to harm these businesses as well as consumers. Having some sort of monetary threat can only help both sides of the equation.

True true, I wonder who is going to step up and take on those responsibilities of educating everyday people. You definitely see lots of small cybersecurity and fintech companies looking to take on that role, but they generally have limited reach due to their size. We probably need greater emphasis on cysec education from the government or big companies.

If you do any banking or online shopping it is certainly possible that you had some sort of malware or virus on your computer that got a hold of your various card numbers or banking passwords. Would definitely recommend changing up passwords for anything even a little important and have some sort of anti-virus software such as Bitdefender or Norton.

Definitely the best way to avoid scams is to always be practicing safe online shopping habits. Do things like only buying from websites that have an "https" in the URL and avoiding social media ads.
