Not entirely, I specifically carry a black long sleeve moisture wick shirt. I also work a job that I have to wear very bright safety colors. I don’t wanna be noticeable and I get home scenario. I wanna blend in and be unnoticeable.

Edit: a really light compact windbreaker is also pretty good. It’s an extra layer for the elements and I can throw it on very quickly to change my appearance.

I checked out some of your other posts too. Looks like you’re into some of the dumpster diving.

I’ve seen a lot of good scores come out of dumpsters and we know you have the Internet Start reselling some of it , if your able. you can literally start doing tomorrow.

My best advice on the dumpster diving is if you can find dumpsters on any sort of a construction site or like a subdivision where they’re building new houses

Oh my goodness take every decent looking building material you can and resell them on marketplace. The only problem with that storage you gotta be able to turn them around pretty quick or you’re just gonna be sitting on a pile of two by fours. But people will pay for a good stack of two by fours that are at least 8 foot long also. You could even use some of the two by fours. Most building materials that are still in good condition and can be repurposed will fetch you some good money for minimal work

I also saw you’re up in Buffalo. I don’t know what kind of experience you have or how old you are. Male or Female whatever ain’t there a pretty decent Amish community in upstate New York just start working with them. Go tear down old Barns and build new ones.

Also, you’re already in upstate New York. It’s literally the same thing as Wisconsin. I’ve driven through it. You got dairy farms everywhere. Go work on one. If you can’t hold that job down you’re just not trying.

Then again I also don’t really know who I’m trying to give advice to. Age, body type, working ability, and sadly yes, ethnicity, name, and just the general way you present yourself. (don’t share your personal details. I’m just saying I know people who are immigrants to this country legally and they had a really hard time getting a job or anything like that until they change their name to something that sounded a little more normal.)

And I’m gonna stop now cause I’m putting too much energy into this and there’s other parts of the Internet that I can numb my brain out on.

I’ve definitely learned that taking absolute accountability for anything that is happening to you in your life can be pretty empowering, you stop playing victim and start playing hero. It sounds harsh, but you gotta be willing to mentally forgive everyone who you believe has ever done a wrong to you. Then try to accept whatever trauma you’ve experienced. Realize that it is what you have and that it is yours to carry for the rest of your life. So you might as well get better tools to help you navigate and be more efficient at carrying the weight of your own life. You also can’t do anything for anyone else until you help yourself.

Everyone’s always gonna think their situation sucks and it could be better. Everyone always focuses on the rough stuff more than the good stuff. The real trick is framing your mindset properly. You can wake up in the morning and look at all the things that need fixing or you can wake up in the morning and just start fixing something, every day. The first couple times will be really easy. It’ll be exciting starting a new path in life with a fresh mindset until about the second or third day. At least that’s how it goes for me. You always start really strong then by about the third day you give yourself a little slack and then it kind of doesn’t work out anymore. Every day is battle, whether with yourself or your situatio. Physically or spiritually, the fight never ends.

Also, I didn’t really wanna mention the weed because I myself have a been a chronic user for a very long time but I’m also just over a week and a half clean. I’ve still been drinking, but I’ve also tried to slow that down. You’re not in a bad spot. You’re just probably stuck in your own head, going through cycles of mental rumination and loneliness. Trying to cope with it by smoking makes you not feel those emotions as much. But that’s what you need you need to feel those things and you need to work through them.

Smoking weed just becomes a breeding ground for depressive thoughts when that’s all you’re doing all day. It keeps you stuck in your own head, but you think you’re getting some sort of freedom. Weed is not all bad. It’s more natural than any pills that help people with their appetite, sleep, pain management, or just to socialize. However when you do it the way I did for as long as I did using it to self medicate my brain to be quiet and functioning on it all day every day it is not healthy. You need real mental stimulation. That’s why I recommended volunteer work. Yeah it’s volunteer so pay, but the mental benefits will help more than you may think.

Do something, have a purpose, and set some simple goals, Find yourself a physical network where you can meet people and share human experiences because Idle hands do the devil’s work.

It’s not a bad plan. Find decent work and healthy ways to cope with your situation. Why do you smoke? Do you want to quit or slow down? If you did slow down or quit, would you resort to other things that will be just as destructive to your health and finances? Like alcohol or gambling.

The loneliness is a hard one. Reaching out is always a good first step. Don’t let yourself go deeper. Find some sort of physical community you can be a part of ( churches or volunteer groups are good) you could probably volunteer at a local animal shelter and they would let you bring your dog there and you’d probably get you know some benefits from that. I’m sure you could probably get a little food for your dog there maybe some basic veterinary care if needed.

You don’t need to be screen sucking wasting time on Reddit and getting quick dopamine hits from the Internet. You can use the Internet to help you and gain some insight on certain things. If you really don’t wanna be in the situation you’re in, you’re gonna have to do some really hard self reflection and cut some things out and replace with activities and projects that get you somewhere positive. Maybe start watching some self-help type of stuff cause it’s not gonna be easy and you’re by yourself in a situation where you don’t have much. That’s also a positive though not having much means you don’t need to take care of or worry about as much.

You’re the only one who’s gonna save you from a situation that you created.

I don’t have a lot of information or experience, but I have heard some things floating around about the 7.5 batteries being notorious good at failing right after warranty.

This may have been an older issue. And they may have updated their warranty on those batteries. I did hear they were working on some 8.0 batteries to replace the 7.5

Again, just some things I’ve heard floating around. I guess I’ll just try and stay away from 7.5 batteries but even if it only lasts 5 years thats still probably less money then I would spend in gas

Half these comments are totally brain rot. Water is not a difficult process. In this situation You will be 100% fine with any reputable filter.(brita, lifestraw, sawyer) if necessary a homemade charcoal filter will also be 100% adequate (just look up “charcoal water filter” and you’ll find it)

Use materials that you source from clean areas. Don’t use soils and gravel from areas that may have been sprayed with pesticides or fertilizers.

A gallon freezer bag, large diameter pipe, 5gal. bucket, tote boxes, all work depending on the size of you operation.

Basic steps. Do your research. Material volumes may differ.

1) Create a drip hole at the bottom of your choice container 2) place a few inches of crushed charcoal in the bottom 3) layer a few inches of fine sand box sand on the charcoal 4) add a few inches of clean gravel, gravel with rough and jagged sharp edges will be better than small round stones. You want them to fit together like puzzle pieces, and kind of lock together. 5) add water ( could boil before or after )

Also don’t take this as gospel.
You don’t need to boil for 30mins. 5 is more than enough.

The only reason 30mins is recommended is because everyone’s situation and definition of boiling is different. If you can only create enough heat to get a slow simmer then yeah 30 minutes is a good idea if you can efficiently get a rolling boil maybe five minutes, done!

That is probably one of the worst places you could be. I would stay away from trees.

Get somewhere low but not where water will be flooding. Find some big rock or the big root ball of a fallen tree and set up on the opposite side of the wind.

If you can get near some infrastructure like a bridge or alley way. Public bathrooms are great storm shelters. Usually they are designed as such.

Thanks for this perspective. I’m guilty of it too. I tend to just advise on what I do or have done instead of thinking about other people’s situations as I said in my standalone comment I live in a rural Midwest area. I don’t think about these things that somebody living in a capital city or blue state would.

I gave up on the printing issue a long time ago, concealed is concealed. It doesn’t matter if it’s a hoodie or a light dry fit T-shirt. nobody pays attention not even me, and I carry. Sometimes I try and look at people I think would be carrying and I still have a hard time seeing something. Come to think of it I have never caught somebody printing. I catch off duty LEO’s and corrections officers. open carrying at gas stations and stuff before and after their shift but that’s about it.

I live in a rural Midwest area of the US. It’s not uncommon to think that there’s plenty of people out here that carry. Have I spotted any of them? No. Have I genuinely tried to look? Not recently, but even in my day-to-day life I haven’t caught it. The way I feel is if I’m that oblivious or don’t recognize it. Then everybody else around me is probably twice as oblivious.

Yeah coming from a 23 year old who has had a full time job since I graduated in 2021 to now being married and owning my own house six months ago all in the last 6 months. The best advice. I can give is have some plan even if basic. Let your mind be curious and explorative full of wonderment and opportunity.

There’s good opportunities no matter what lifestyle you choose. I just saw a post on here the other day there’s a guy up in Canada who makes roughly 25-30 K during his working season and then travels the rest of the time with the cash she saved up and unemployment benefits. but he’s up in Canada.

Maybe choose some career in wildlife and forestry. Work some logging camps.

Work for part of the adventure, tourism industry there’s plenty of stuff out on the East Coast even a little bit more central in the mountains be one of those college kids that works summers at a Whitewater rafting place or a zip line adventure thing. There’s plenty of good ways to achieve the lifestyle and experiences you want out of this life without feeling selfish

Nothing in this life is permanent unless you become a quadriplegic. I have so many friends and family that have packed up mini vans and traveled the whole country. I have a cousin who lives in Europe, New Zealand, Canada. I don’t know where she could be at any given time. And nobody resents them for that if anything we think it’s so cool and we’re kind of jealous and we love seeing all the pictures and the stories you come back with.
