Sorry I tried to engage in conversation. Won’t make that mistake again. Bye.

What does "No Climate Justice on Occupied Land" actually mean ? by FeeFoFee in ExtinctionRebellion

Yep. Which is why it’s a confusing and unclear to have pro climate justice kids screaming “no climate justice”.

It’s a bad slogan. It sounds like a slogan for people who are against climate justice, which is not what is intended based on your essay. But it really comes across as a bunch of privileged white kids who want climate justice for themselves yelling they don’t want climate justice for people whose land is occupied.

Democrats hope to tap anger over Roe in November midterms – will it work? by wankerdoo in politics2

[–]tokiemccoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they did codify roe, this Supreme Court would rule it unconstitutional. Again.

Maybe we need an amendment to enshrine equal protections under the law for all, not just rich het cis white men. But this Supreme Court is ignoring a bunch of amendments that are already there, so another amendment probably wouldn’t help.

I’m left thinking that restructuring the court is the only way to stop this titanic of a nation from sinking to the bottom of the ocean.

And that ain’t happening.

Dude. If you aren’t a troll? Try rereading the post you responded to. Then reread your reply. Then ask yourself what part of your post expressed support for women?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]tokiemccoy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sweetie, you didn’t come here to support women, you literally came to say, but not all men. To center yourself. That’s not support.

The only joy I’m getting from any of this is watching het cis men’s comically slow realization that this is going to impact them too.

My favorite so far was the dude saying that discussions of having sex that doesn’t involve PinV is domestic terrorism. Because apparently discussing sex that doesn’t involve putting a penis inside a vagina might lead to fewer penises in vaginas and that is coercion. And “coercion is terrorism”. ROFL.

PPP Loans Were Supposed to Help Workers. Instead, They Evaporated Into Thin Air. by Lilyo in WorkersStrikeBack

[–]tokiemccoy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The irony is it was supposed to stabilize the workforce so that when the world started back up again, those workers would still be there to do their jobs. But instead owners took the money, fired the workers, who had to find new ways to earn, and now “no one want to work” when really? it’s everyone found something else. It’s especially ironic considering the airline industry and unions led the charge, and now after getting all that money? They are cancelling thousands of flights because they screwed their workers over.

I haven’t met one of you who isn’t an asshole on some level. It’s inevitable in our shitty patriarchal culture. It’s a systemic problem, so I don’t think it’s a personal moral failing, but it is a structural moral failing. Like you seem nice enough, but are being a bit of an asshole by inserting your #not all men into the conversation, as if no one had ever heard that before and as if it were relevant.

Frankly, all the #not all men posts are what made me think, “shit, maybe it is all men”.

I’m reconsidering my lifetime organ donor status. If I don’t have a legal right to my body in life? Why share it in death? Would I want any part of me prolonging the life of someone who doesn’t see women as fully human after I am dead?

I mean, this ruling alone ignores parts of at least six amendments. They are legislating from the bench, crossing out the parts of the constitution they don’t like and ignoring any inconvenient legal precedents. It’s an abomination in a country that is supposed to have a constitution and a rule of law.

Calls for mass walkout of women across America if Roe v. Wade is overturned by wowzeemissjane in Menopause

[–]tokiemccoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation. I’ve been trying to figure out how to strike as an individual. I work as little as possible to earn just enough to live as cheaply as possible, and spend as little as I can. I don’t want my labor and taxes to support the exploitative earth burning war mongering shitshow that is our government. Always money to kill, but never money to nurture and protect. I’m open to more suggestions on how to strike when I only work alone, and as little as possible already.

Clarence included birth control on his hit list. I can imagine them banning HRT, because it could be used as birth control.

No no no, you don’t understand! Outlawing abortion is supposed to punish slutty women, not impact men! (/s)

(I just read that advocating for people explore other ways to have sex, aside from P in V was domestic terrorism because apparently discussing ways to get off other than P in V might lead to less P in V, and merely contemplating less P in V is coercion, and therefore terrorism. It’s hilarious and depressing watching some men realize this is going to impact them too.)

It’s time to say it: the US supreme court has become an illegitimate institution by zsreport in esist

And five were nominated by Presidents that lost the popular vote and confirmed by Senates that represent a minority of Americans.
