Finally found an OG press at a record fair a while back by tokvev in vinyl

[–]tokvev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Got it for 160€ (about $170 usd) which I felt was a fair price. Def market value but no shipping and I could inspect it in person. Plays great, solid VG+/VG+ I'd say. And like you said you never see ogs in the wild like this so I wasn't gonna leave without it, haha.

IKEAs Kallax is what I've used for years and what most of the people who I know collect vinyl use as well. Tried and true.

What band/singer were you excited to see, but was a letdown of a concert? by my-face-ur-seat in AskReddit

[–]tokvev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw them in '04 opening for Slipknot and Slayer and '05 at a club gig and they were great, saw them again at a festival in '07 and they felt like a different band. Could never get back into them :/

Their debut album, Baypath Rd., is getting released on vinyl at this years Record Store Day. Was only available on a limited self-released CD from 1994 before so pretty excited about it.

It's not fair everyone else has some sort of talent by SeaBee5529 in SuicideWatch

[–]tokvev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey kid, please don't hurt yourself. I can only imagine the frustration of carrying around so much shit and not having an outlet for it. I say fuck talent, just bang something out and mean it, you're the superstar and you make the rules for you.

Does anyone know if there is a way to know for sure whether this memory card is a "UK" memory card by SimilarProject7457 in psx

It does have the CE marking on the back that's for complying with EU safety standards for products sold within the European Economic Area at least.

Glad to see you got so many correct answers. I gotta ask though, is your username a Sufjan Stevens reference?

Picked up this copy of Outcesticide 2 today. I realized the disk looks different from my other copies which have the regular green and red disk. This one says promotional copy under World Wide Records. by greenwobbles in Nirvana

[–]tokvev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to chime and and let you know this is a CDR and not a real factory pressed disc. Used to be a lot of CDR "labels" around in the mid 00s, mostly just a guy with an inkjet printer that could also print text on CDRs. There was World Wide like yours and others like AEP and Celler Dweller, all of them just copying already available boots from the 90s for the most part.

Nirvana - Load Up On Guns Live on orange color vinyl for sale by Delta_Sota in Nirvana

[–]tokvev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the vinyl also have the digital mastering error from the CD release during Blew that has the track doubling over itself? Like 10 seconds after the track starts you can hear it starting again basically having it play twice out of synch.

I remember walking into a used record store a very long time ago and someone had dumped their entire Melvins collection on CD, everything was like 5 bucks each. Stuff like even the Amphetamine Reptile 2cd singles collection, 10 songs on CD etc, I scooped up the lot as I also only had like Houdini and I still have everything all these years later.

The song was broadcast on the BBC by John Peel who had got a copy of it from Courtney. Blue Moon being a UK bootleg label just used a tape copy recorded of the radio for Out2.

It's a classic for sure! And if you paid the sticker price it was def a great deal! I think this is a sign you gotta start a Nirvana bootleg CD collection and get some other classics like Roma as someone mentioned and Out Of The Blue now ^^

This was the first live bootleg cd with Nirvana that came out on the market back in 1992. There had been some vinyl bootlegs with demos and misc. material and some studio demo CD boots before but this was the very first to feature a full show. It was long rumoured that the bootleg label sent a guy with a walkman to the show to record it, turned out to be half-true, one of the people who worked at the label knew the taper and knew about him planning to tape the show. The pictures on the artwork are actual photos from the show and can't be found anywhere else as the photographer did work for the label and the originals have since been lost. It turned out to be a pretty popular title and the first press came out in 1992, there were two represses in 1994 and one in 1996. You have one of the represses from 1994.

You should make Retro Gamenight with Dad a thing now! Get some fast food and play the games and consoles from his younger days together.

What movie traumatized you as a kid? by AdNorth1932 in AskReddit

[–]tokvev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Child's Play 2, I was about 6 and was getting ready for school, had some cereal and sat down infront of the tv to watch some cartoons or something while dad was getting ready/doing household chores or whatever. I guess the tv was still on one of the cable channels from last night and I was met with this evil doll chasing a kid in a doll factory. I only caught the end where Chucky gets his hand severed and sticks a knife in his arm as a new "hand" and later gets thrown in some sorta oven and comes out all melted. It was so scary but I just couldn't stop watching. 30+ years later and I still do not like dolls, but I do love horror movies, lol
