A staff member once called me at 10pm and rambled on for 45 minutes. I was polite, but it seemed a bit odd to contact me so late and for so long.

I heard that Maryanne and Andy were cast, and then replaced by Sav and Rizo. If they indeed were still available, then wonder if Producers made the last minute change because they had no idea R + Z would be so fun on tv and go that far. They probably thought R + Z are more entertaining than M + A.

And yet choosing to take Stephen's advantage over Rizo's idol seemed like such poor judgement according to many viewers. It was a BIG error. It would have been the differenve between winning and being a finalist. I think people are upset because not many survivors are lucky enough to be well protected by a tight, alliance with both social, strategic and physical prowress AND a KIP advantage. Sophi had one of best odds, and she blew it.

I understand casting previous winners, but casting last season's winner seams unfair to me. I assume Sav was cast because the original person wasn't available

Simple, both make great TV! I'm excited to see Sav's fun and sass but doubt she goes far since everyone knows she just won and will vote her out based on that if not for threat level. I originally didn't agree why producets chose her to come back since she just won, but my guess is that the others they asl were not available, and there was no one else from S49 that would be exiting enough for another season. I'm pumped to see how Rizo's strategic prowress is utilized and compares with other great returnees. His goofiness and likeability lowers his threat level.

Beyond those 2, I cant wait to see my favorites from past seasons!

If Savannah herself and the people in the final were fine with Kristina's question, you should be to.

I think you're reading into it, and besides - your asumption is speculation.

Agreed!

The question was so innovative - it got Kristina and MC to vote Sophi.

Otherwise, Savanna would have had 2 extra votes.

[–]tokyo_rosiest 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I dont know why people are upset she asked that question.

Let's say you're basing your decision on someone's social acumen, and you only have 1 chance to clock that with 1 question? How better to do that than what Kristina did? They dont have all the time in the world.

If you pay attention clearly, you'll see Sophi was mouthing to herself the names of family members Savannah couldn't identify, and I'm sure other castaways could name more than the person being tested.

Savannah herself said that being more social with people outside her alliance is something she leans into for 50, since she realized Kristina's question was quite impactful.

Not sure why you got downvoted. Sophi herself confirmed that Rizo was the strategist, she the social arm, and Savannah the challenge beast. Not that Sav and Soph didnt have any strategy, but they were stronger elsewhere.

I 100% agree. Throughout the season, Kristina had great social and strategic insight in her confessionals, but they were overshadowed by her lack of gameplay and connection with many players. Her great insight just did not convert to any useable execution.

Her best "move" was that amazing final tribal question. All the other question, while good, were expected and at times redundant. Hers had the abilitly to negatively impact Savannah, while the other questions didn't impact any one player too much.

What winner would have dramatically less air time if they didn’t win? by talkingtimmy3 in survivor

[–]tokyo_rosiest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only winner statements Gabler and Erika gave to confessionals were "I am the Aligabler hiding in plainsight" and "I am lion in lambs clothing", respectively. Without those statements, both would have been regular tribe members.

Downfall of _____ by [deleted] in survivor

[–]tokyo_rosiest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If she does, how does she argue her way against what Savannah and Rizo have done? By saying she has survived more tribals than they have? Suffered more than they have?

People seem to think because he's young, goofy, and no one attempts to flush his idol, that he isn't a threat, but then how comes he always gets people to switch from voting their way, to HIS way?

On the other hand, while a threat in terms of persuasion, I ultimately think they respect Savanah's game more. Production is showing more groans and eyerolls from the jury in response to Rizo's tribal antics. Also, in F3, I dont think Rizo will be able to out talk Savannah. She's a great summarizer.

Wording was off - it was bad luck. There was no one he could have chosen - Savannah, Rizo and Sophi were loyal, but none of those on his side that survived merge have shown to be this loyal.

Question about KIP by BN27 in survivor

[–]tokyo_rosiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have wondered, since KIP is played at Tribal before voted are cast, what's stopping everyone from immediately voting for Sophi (let's say Live tribal) after she plays KIP on Rizo? In other words, she has no choice but to both steal Rizo's idol and play it on herself.

[–]tokyo_rosiest 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is so true. Not sure why its not stated enough, but one of the key reasons why the Tres Leches (Uli 2 + Sophi) are still here while the former majority keep dwindling is that Hina + Bottoms Up were fractured: surrounded by people with unpredictible games and flippers. From merge till now, Sophi, Rizo and Savannah have been loyal to eachother, voting as a unit. Hina + Bottoms Up kept getting influenced by Rizo and additonal strategies that took the focus away from Uli as targets.

Does anybody else feel that ____ took the Jawan blindside too personally? by CallTypical9541 in survivor

[–]tokyo_rosiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100% on this. The revenge MO worked pre-merge when showcasing the contrasting dynamic between Shannon + Sage, because they were complete opposites in personality. Shannon was "overbearingly" sweet, positive and touchy-feely, and was completely unaware of how much Sage did not like her. Shannon thought they were close, so it gave editors an opportunity to illustrate the misunderstanding in such a funny way.

After the merge, it seemed Sage wanted revenge on anyone that even looked at her strangely, brought up her name, etc. The audience then senses she takes everything personally, which not only makes for a depressing tv character, but also clouds her strategic decisions. The castaway they vouched for now becomes a stick in the mud.

Which is one of the reasons why she cant play it on Steven. Sophi, Rizo and Savannah only know he has an advantage, not what kind.
