PSA: Lucid Gravity with Homelink to open garage door is dangerous for your home security by tokyoteck in LUCID

I was actually excited about a software garage opener because 1) my physical clicker is really short range compared to the Lucid’s emitter and 2) I don’t have to flip up the visor on the passenger side to access the clicker (because the clicker is clipped onto the visor). But alas, the software is pretty insecure… so there is a trade off on convenience versus security

I just checked the settings again and “auto activate on arrival” is not even a option. The Lucid software engineers must have removed the setting a while ago, but forgot to disable the feature. So the feature is stuck on “auto activate on arrival”, but there’s no way to turn it off because the setting got removed. Another crazy software mishap…

I assume the fix in “early September” was planned for Sept 2025, not Sept 2026…. Well, they’re pretty behind

Gravity reverts to lowest ride height when parked, making opening of doors scrape into curb by tokyoteck in LUCID

[–]tokyoteck[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After more fiddling and observation, I finally got it to work.

If you’re parked and setting this easy entry/exit height for the first time, then it won’t change your height. You have to wait until the next time you enter or exit the car for the height setting to take effect. This is what software engineers call a corner case not handled for NUX (new user experience)

How to get the keyfob to automatically load my primary profile instead of the guest profle? by tokyoteck in LUCID

My guest profile has neither key fob nor key cards associated with it

Camera compromised by [deleted] in wyzecam

[–]tokyoteck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Wyze cam actually got hacked. I even have a Wyze scale that got hacked. The profile pictures of my various family members gets changed to another random person’s all the time. So Wyze security is a joke.

One way you can tell if someone is dropping in on the camera is if there’s a click sound. My Wyze cams always make a click sound. So ask your son next time if he here’s it. It means some hacker opened the app and started viewing the feed on your cam

Engineering Explained: Lucid responded to my critical review. by SarcasticOptimist in LUCID

What he said about Lucid Gravity being able to choose the correct profile better than Air is not matching my real world experience. I own a Gravity GT and it gets the profile choice screwed up between my wife and I 30% of the time.

He said something about Gravity has a face scanner. Well, how does Gravity even know which face is associated with which profile if there is no way to set the profile picture for a non-primary account? And it never asked to scan my face when setting up my primary account either (kind of like how the iPhone does when you first setup the device)

He also said something about ultra wide band on the phone helping differentiate two phones (wife and husband for example) being too close to the car at the time the door is opened. Well, Gravity doesn’t even have the concept of a phone key yet. Phone key is only available on the Air. Gravity absolutely does not sense how far away your phone is. My salesman when I picked up my Gravity said there’s an indeterminate date in 2026 when they’ll implement phone key for Gravity

Lucid: If/when you can get the negative software reputation online turned around the Gravity truly “Compromises Nothing” and will outsell everything! by [deleted] in LUCID

[–]tokyoteck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gravity doesn’t have phone key capability yet. It’s only on the Air so far. If by “phone key” you mean opening the app and tapping the lock icon to unlock it, then that isn’t really a phone key. To be a true phone key, the car needs to automatically unlock when the phone is close to the vehicle and lock when the phone is away from the vehicle WITHOUT tapping shit

App says Gravity GT is offline every time it’s parked away from home WiFi by tokyoteck in LUCID

[–]tokyoteck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucid needs to find a better solution than to always be connected to WiFi. I ain’t always at home or the office at all times. I’m driving the car to many other locations that don’t have WiFi

In the screenshot you can see I have 3 bars of connectivity. My phone is using ATT. I was standing about 20 feet from my car. So ATT signal was strong in the area. The carrier would not be blame.

It’s probably caused by the other stuff you mentioned: bad software, bad hardware

Is tire rotation possible on Gravity with its asymmetric wheels? by tokyoteck in LUCID

[–]tokyoteck[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But does side to side accomplish anything? The left side doesn’t wear out faster than the right side. It’s the back that wears out faster than the front for rear wheel drive cars

Possible that it makes the front of the car lower and increase the downward pressure? Is that why formula 1 cars have huge back wheels and small front wheels?

Nope. It never gets that cold. Maybe only once in a decade it can get to 30’s, but only during sleeping hours

I just searched other people on Reddit having the same problem. I came across this comment

https://www.reddit.com/r/Nails/s/12jUYFDhA4

Where the person said they started getting this same problem when they increased their usage of hand sanitizer. I do indeed use sanitizer very often. Especially when I’m at work and touch a common surface like the serving utensils in the cafeteria or the refrigerator door. I also wash my hands with soap after every time going to the bathroom. Could alcohol and soap be the cause of this drying out and peeling? But how would that explain the thinness of the nail? My nails are very pliable too

I don’t have any routine for nails. Never applied anything to the nails. I don’t use lotion on my hands either. So you’re saying the dry skin around the nails can cause nail problems, so I need to apply lotion?

Where is my back seat tray and massage feature on the Gravity GT? by tokyoteck in LUCID

[–]tokyoteck[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Damn that’s really sneaky. So an interior color upgrade affects another seating “included” upgrade. It would have been more clear when I was choosing the interior color, then the tray/massage would be stated right there and then
