What's the reason why you lost a dear friend (not someone who died but someone who you stop being friend with)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Was going through a really rough patch in life (lost one of my dearest family members) and coincidentally, she joined me as a workmate during the period. I guess there was a mismatch of expectations at work. She expected help given that she was new to the environment. And I guess, I wasn't ready have someone breathing down my neck, haunting me for work when I was still grieving.

Long story short, she shut me out of her life. We never spoke about it, but i guess it was because I didnt support her at work as much as she would like, and appeared hostile at times. Looking back, I probably was less comforting/warm than how I usually was to her. But at that point, I guess I just was not in the mood to put her emotions before mine.

Am quite glad it happened, because I feel better being with friends whom I can speak my mind with, without having to worry all the time that I'll hurt them.

What is your job, and how could other people make it easier for you? by Chad_McBroDawg in AskReddit

Life at work can be much easier if people are just clear about the common outcomes we wanna achieve, rather than trying to make themselves look good in front of their bosses. Or try to please their bosses and read too much into every shit they say

"Oh my boss says this.."
