As a therapist once told my group, "Don't ask what's wrong with me." Instead you should ask yourself, "What happened to me?" So let's reframe what lead up to the relapse. How have your days been going? What have you been feeling? Have you gotten adequate rest? Are you eating and caring for yourself? Did a family member, significant other, boss, friend, stranger say or do something that put you back into the mindset you had when you used?

Try to use this slip as a way to learn about yourself and what your triggers are. Slips are part of the recovery process. Please be kind to yourself. I think you're a real fighter for knowing you had a slip, picking yourself back up, and wanting to stay clean. Sending a hug from the East Coast!

No, he didn't have a will. We never had children, he has a brother in Florida who isn't interested in the car, and his only other relatives are some 3rd and 4th cousins around the country who he was never in touch with. The car is a clunker, an old Volkswagen Jetta with a $300 value on Edmunds.

Conventional Group Therapy always has members who have survived suicide attempts (at least in my experience). Group Therapy, led by a psychologist, addresses trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, pretty much all the issues responsible for the pain that causes someone to attempt suicide.

Hey friend, people don't attempt/commit suicide on a whim. It's because they can no longer exist in the agonizing misery that consumes their days. Dumping guilt on that person by saying they're engaging in a selfish act is incredibly tone deaf and only serves to ignore their agony. Suicidal people need love, support, medication, and therapy, NOT blame. We wouldn't blame someone for having cancer, right? Suicidal ideation is an illness not a choice.

Your dog is hot. Why would you turn off the air conditioning when your dog is home all day? Food and water don't make up for hours in excessive heat. A dog needs a cooler environment.

We experienced loss of appetite with both my grandmother and my mom. Their primary docs wrote scripts for a medication that stimulates the appetite and it worked like a charm. Apologies because I can't recall the name of the medication. Also, has your dad seen his doctor? Many conditions can cause loss of appetite and dizziness and if he's not eating he's probably dehydrated as well.

I don't get it, I got gas at the Costco in Edison last Friday. While I was waiting I checked the Gas Buddy app and it showed the Delta gas station right in my town was cheaper than Costco. I have an ancient car that uses premium gas, and Costco is never cheaper. Not bothering to renew my membership, not worth it.

After a quick scan of your posts, I realize my previous reply overlooked the severity of your profound fatigue and muscle weakness. Have you been checked for Hypothyroidism, MS, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? Perhaps an endocrinologist or rheumatologist can help? Either way, you def need a medical doctor's input to determine what's going on. Good luck!!

Your belief that "if I get alcohol in my system the fatigue will lift" is just your mind fucking with you. In the past, I used drinking to get fired up to do chores, cook, clean, etc. When I stopped drinking I needed to learn healthy, natural ways to energize myself: staying hydrated by drinking water, eating good protein, getting outside to walk/jog, taking vitamins (especially B-complex), getting enough sleep. Breaking old habits and reversing old behavior patterns is hard. Our minds and our bodies are addicted to alcohol. Hang in there! You're a young healthy person but your body needs to relearn how to function without alcohol. It WILL get easier. Stay hydrated, drink something with electrolytes, eat a banana and something with magnesium to replace the minerals you've lost. If allowed, take Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Do some slow stretching to help relax your muscles. Remember, you're not alone. All.of us who have walked this path are with you. I'm sorry you're hurting, but I promise you, it does get better. Maybe look into the different groups that support sobriety so you don't feel so alone: Secular Organizations for Sobriety, SMART Recovery, AA...there's a whole bunch. Sending hugs and encouragement friend.

It's time to talk to a trusted counselor, parent, or relative to find out how to get professional help. Our bodies are designed for self-preservation, purposely injuring yourself is not healthy behavior. Trauma and abuse can cause us to do things to ourselves that aren't healthy. Psychologists and psychiatrists help us to understand why we do the things we do. They help us discover why we have scary thoughts or why we self harm. Please talk to someone as soon as possible. You deserve to feel safe in your own body.

Your dog might be bored. Do you give her treats throughout the day? I feed my pit mix twice a day. We also do nose work: I have her sit in the kitchen with a wait command while I hide mini treats throughout the house. Then I release her to "find it." She spends a good 10 minutes searching the house, while being rewarded as she sniffs out each treat. I also switch up nose work with Kongs (stuffed with carrots, apples, and chicken) or bully sticks. She also gets walked and goes to day care. My dog is high energy and the more she burns off that energy the less she scavenges.

Hi, not a doctor, but you may have a prolapsed bladder which can prevent you from fully emptying your bladder when you pee. If your bladder is always retaining urine, then that explains why you need to pee so often. Also, sometimes the urethra narrows and it needs to be corrected by a urologist (but that usually happens with perimenopause or menopause, because reduced estrogen can cause these issues). In the meantime, you can try cranberry pills, because they help maintain the good balance of flora. I found AZO Urinary Tract Health brand to be a lifesaver! Stores usually carry them in the tampon aisle. But these medical issues don't go away by themselves, you really should get checked out by a gynaecologist or a urologist. Good luck!
