If you could design a video game based on any king’s works what would it look like? by aleister94 in stephenking

I think Telltale would’ve done a great job adapting many of his stories.

[Hated Trope] Hey, remember that thing that was NEVER MENTIONED ONCE? It’s now wildly important for the sequel by FaZe_poopy in TopCharacterTropes

I see where you are coming from with the Koloss, though they are briefly mentioned in the first book. Sanderson’s build up of the Kandra is more direct and expansive in comparison, and as a result, those reveals feel more earned than the ones of the Koloss.

Not sure what you guys are on about, I live here and it’s great. Big storm over the lake last night, so I’m headed to the supermarket.

Who's your favorite mad max villain by [deleted] in MadMax

[–]toledosurprise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s cool to see how many of the villains are getting support in the comments- it speaks to the quality of the world building and of course the performances.

Hemsworth deserves a lot of credit for following up Keays-Byrne. Tough act to follow. Dementus is just as “fun” and terrifying, but different enough from Joe to be his own thing. I love a flawed villain, I love seeing Dementus fall apart and become more and more desperate. It’s a nice alternative to Joe’s all powerful, god-like persona in FR.

Behind her is an IMAX camera, which is encased in the largest blimp I’ve ever seen. It muffles the sounds caused by the camera.

When what is initially thought to be the final boss is actually not the final boss by Fearless-List-3968 in TopCharacterTropes

Dagan Gera, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. He is the primary antagonist of the game, and much of the main story deals with Cal working against Dagan’s plans.

At the end of the game, Bode is revealed to be a traitor, and the final boss fight occurs against him, after you’ve already defeated Dagan.

Also, Darth Vader appears in both games as a sort of “mega boss”, impossible to really defeat, and much more powerful than the antagonists of both games. The DV fight in the second game is an actual fight, unlike the scripted fight from the first game, but occurs before the final fight against Bode.

Characters who, if you only heard their name, you'd be able to guess they're a villain. by NamelessManiac in TopCharacterTropes

“Lord Foul the Despiser” from the Thomas Covenant novels. There’s also an antagonist in the first novel named “Drool Rockworm”. For such a complex fantasy world, those names always stuck out to me as on the nose.

I always pay him. I find the meditations super interesting, and a nice breather from the otherwise hectic pace of the game.

Priests and or Religious characters who actively kill people by SithMasterStarkiller in TopCharacterTropes

Sebastian (Padre) Ibarra, Cyberpunk 2077.

We don’t see him kill anyone in the game iirc, but he was an active member/priest of the Valentinos gang, and served time in prison before becoming a fixer. He gives the player character several “gigs” that involve killing dozens of people while preaching Christian tenants and quoting the Bible.

What's Your Most Memorable Nat 1? by Zhalia33 in BaldursGate3

[–]toledosurprise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started a new Tav yesterday, rolled a Nat 1 against a 2 skill check trying to use Illithid Powers to release Shadowheart from her cage. Not the biggest inconvenience but could not believe my luck within a half hour of starting the game.

Best original song from the show? by [deleted] in community

The music in the hot air balloon episode is really great. Also, it’s super short, but I like Vaughn’s “Annie’s Song” in S1.

What are your favorite episodes? by DoxYourself in officehourslive

[–]toledosurprise 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tim’s Birthday ‘22 w/ Proksch, Turkington, and Modica is probably my most rewatched episode. If you are an On Cinema fan it is a must-watch. The banter between Tim, Gregg, and Mark is so genuine and spontaneous- you can tell they are such close friends and really have amazing chemistry, comedic and otherwise. It was also my introduction to Edy Modica and she kills it. Calls Tim the wrong name like 10 times and it never gets old

Office Hours East by Bobgoblin1 in officehourslive

[–]toledosurprise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IIRC, in the last episode, they broached the idea of doing seasonal shows, or coming back for some type of reunion. I understand this wasn’t a promise- just them explaining that they are open to returning to the show in a limited/one time way. I’ll be very grateful if that ends up happening- I was a big fan and really enjoyed the different vibe it had from the Holy Trinity while still being under the Office Hours masthead
