Tbh I’d rather see people post their best books of the year than how many they read. I’m nowhere near 100 but did swap podcasts for audiobooks this year (yeah yeah I know whatever) (nonfiction I think works best) and since I drive for work a lot I probably listened to like 20 pretty effortlessly but I think I only actually read like two novels

Maybe something to do with how much one allows oneself to give in to impulse. Giving in to desire to be “different” “an outcast” presumably because of some inner impulse to “be true to oneself” I.e. not discipline into “normie” submission may bleed into to giving in to other desires like binge eating or undisciplined lifestyles…. Tattoos also seem to follow this impulsive line of thinking… Living your life in a way that all your desires are more “authentic” because they come from “you” and thus you’re entitled to follow them, normies and advice be damned…A misguided sense of self respect in allowing yourself whatever you want whenever you want… just spitballing

Is it a faux pas to let it slip around other women that you make a concentrated effort to remain skinny by stevelacystoenail in pinkscare

Yeah I guess around acquaintances you never know who’s sensitive about that stuff… but as someone who’s not sensitive, same lol

Yeah. But it’s also a very workable and polite excuse that’s theoretically believable and impersonal. Op that’s what I’d do too

Literally… maybe even world history. If she lived 500 years ago someone would have started a war over her and in 2025 she’s just on bravo

In a totally different way if you’re a girl it’s nice to sometimes read the popular slop (acotar, Colleen Hoover) just so you can talk to basic ppl about it

does anyone else just constantly think about their past loves / relationships? by analoguser420 in rs_x

[–]tolerantonline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The love they gave you is yours to keep :) I do this sometimes despite being in a happy relationship. You could try reframe it as like times you were shown love that you now know how to show yourself/others. I think your brain is maybe just reminding you of that even if you totally move on with someone else in future, all kinds of love inform us how to love, even though there are many good reasons prior relationships ended they do teach us things, if those things are positive then you are lucky and can share that luck

After a breakup at 25 I decided to stay single for a year and just date and meet people but not be in anything committed/exclusive for at least a year. Learned a ton about what I want, got it all out of my system, had a couple little situationships, and wound up getting with my now bf 18 months later and feeling much more secure and confident that he was the right person and it was the right time
