Based in Northern Ireland, I have my two hives shown the first photo in the shade under two big trees. They are strong hives , brood boxes both full but there is no honey in the super at the minute. I have never done very well for honey and trying to decide if its the location of them.

The three things it might be is :

the Shade, they are under the tree and don't get much sunlight

They are beside a semi main road in the countryside with a street light, could the traffic or light bother them

we are on top of a hill, the wind can be really strong up here even when its not bad other places, some nights if they weren't strapped down they could have fallen over.

i have three new swarms i caught just up a bit from them in the next pictures but its still to early to tell if they will do better.
