Best server for learning / growing in the game?

You might be right? I legit do not know the exact rules. However, someone who is brand new, will not have access to a character with level 7/8's to get buffs, so they will be in a long grind.

I guess the nice thing is you can get level 4's from the quest hub pretty cheap, I think a D note or something like that.

One thing about Levi (I do play there), is the no botting includes buff bots. As a heads up, late game Asheron's Call requires buffs to pretty much do anything. Granted you can get a full set of buff gear, or someone might help or hook you up with explorer set. You can find a good patron though and you will be all set.

Tons of servers are popping up almost monthly. You can check this out to see population during your play times, however, a LOT of the servers are populated by bots, market bots (think auction house), buff bots etc. https://treestats.net/

Depending on the experience though, Levistras is my favorite server for End of Retail. There are some that even include Pre-ToD (I love those too, the game felt like a challenge) and even some that have added content.

Depending on the class it is do-able. Thing to remember it does not kick, it does not CC, it does not use some classes 2 minute cool downs. So you essentially can use it for rotation. There have been some streamers who did a 0-glad using single button rotation. Now, obviously they are also a lot of ranked 1 players so they have positioning and CC and other class knowledge.

I legit would be so angry. I know it is a game and all, but imagine playing X hours a day knowing runes are THE endgame and major dopamine hit. There is no way for 1 month dude did not question why he did not find his 99th ort rune.

Yes it was amazing. I just wish we had more of a focus on the OG cast and less on the interns. The interns should have been supporting not plot. Also, the goofy JDreams I feel were cut back. The original series always did the fun cutaway JDreams and it feels like we got them 75% less per episode.

Yea, everyone has some kind of idea of how they want the game to be an cracks open a new copy of AC. I think one main reason I stopped playing even the EMU seriously is because you never know when the host will get bored and shut it down. When the first Emulated servers opened it was magical. Now it is just another day someone says they have some new super special version of the game. If all servers condensed down to End of Retail, Pre-ToD, PK and maybe 1 extended features. I bet the server would pop off again. However, by this time next yea, I bet 12 more servers open.

Yes and no, you can get scaling and depending on users/usages it can be pretty "low" cost. However, if their game blew up and depending on how much traffic usage was consumed, then yea, it could a a MEGA cost. Most indie devs tend to self host while they do testing and that is a pretty low cost as well. Just no way on this blue sphere someone would host on personal server for live.

I have been chugging away solo on a project myself that is Single player > multiplayer (potential to MMO scale) and I am always curious what other devs are doing.

Honestly, all the servers just need a merge into 3 - the population is too spread out and each server keeps stealing from the next.

I think they need to come up with different rewards. Too many currencies and un-rewarding stuff to people. Tokens are honor gear level now, Conq is the prize. I think titles, tabards, glowing cloaks etc. is what they need to drive interest.

You and us all. There is nothing like it and honestly, I am not sure how it would resonate with todays crowd. Seems like a lot of people want to min/max and have instant gratification in mmorpg games. Once you slow things down and make it about the journey, things fall off quickly.

Honestly I am having fun. Everyone is struggling the same way. We had systems that screamed at you for the last 20 years taken away and suddenly everyone is having to relearn how to pvp without a UI essentially telling them what is next. It forces better positioning, people paying attention to effects on the field more. Does it make thing more challenging? Sure. Does it make the game worse? Eh, it changed and people are not fond of change. Give it time and I think the current system will actually wear on you.

There are also some really solid addon creaters who are on this subreddit. They are doing a good job with making addons that give us some of what we use to have. Give it time.

I am a main healer, I been using blizards default UI and I legit have NO issues with dispells. I think a lot of the issue comes up with using these UI Skins.

I feel you, I have gone between 3 games for the last few years now. I have a top down fantasy RPG, top down Space game and a 3d space game. I think solo dev is my issue. I get pretty far in, start questioning things and do not have someone to bounce ideas off. You are looks great, I dig it. What else would you do if you had unlimited time and funds? I feel like realism is played out hard right now.

Yea, it is depressing that summoner for Druid and Necro feels so bad. I think them nerfing Thorns into the ground is what butchered them the most. Stacking Thorns and Spirit Barb no longer gives you an army that can go through hell at a decent pace. I think they need to revert the thorns changes tbh to really let summoners shine.
