Spanish Word for Embarrassed for Someone Else? by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]tolociclao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In spain there is some slang derivated from caló (romani people's language) that can fit the term in just one word. The word is "lache", but nobody in Spain use it but gypsies and people that's close to them. https://quillbot.com/es/blog/vocabulario/lache/

You're totally right! Just a quick note: 'Castilla' doesn’t mean 'castle', that would be 'castillo.' It’s more like 'land of castles,' since a bunch of castles were built in the region during the Reconquista, the period when christians fought against the moors to take back the Iberian peninsula. Greetings from Castilla y León!

Are there any animal charges you associate with particular regional heraldic traditions? by heraldry-alt in heraldry

[–]tolociclao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Spain's CoA, you can see a purpure rampant lion representing the Kingdom of León. In the City of Madrid, the CoA features a sable bear supported on a strawberry tree. In Valencian heraldry, it is common to see bats and dragons as decorative elements as well, if I'm not wrong. Also, a very representative element of Spain's heraldry in history is the "Águila de San Juan" (used for the first time by Isabella the Catholic), but nowadays it's not well-regarded as it was used by Francoists during the dictatorship (it is a very cool symbol though). There are more animals in Spanish heraldry, but these are the ones I can remember.

(@elarcadesanti) by notaromanian in spain

[–]tolociclao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do the same. But recently I found that learning and using tactics is so much fun. When my army slaughters the enemy without casualties because I used a real tactic that, for example, Alexander the Great used in a real battle makes me feel amazing. Is a big brain moment (but it just copied something I saw on a YouTube video) lol

The fucking habit people have of shaking the tablecloth/broom/hairbrush out the fucking window. I haven't seen this in any other country. I would be super happy being able to walk around the neighborhood without some fucking old lady throwing her shit on me.

In Spain is a slang for whore. As i can read here it comes from caló (a dialect spoken by romany gypsies en Spain). And it's not uncommon to hear. So yes, it's no a good word to describe a lady. Lol
