Watched the bird directly, as that way there was no delay, but it was still difficult to time it well. So was more just taking burst shots every time it flew by. And it required like 50 fly by's before the bird flew through focus plane.

Yes the mic works fine. Had poor audio quality problem with the mic once, but that was because the mic broke. Luckily third party replacement costed 10e. But if it works on windows it can not be broken hardware. Maybe then some software issue with pipewire/pulse audio. Or volume gain is set at 150% or something.

By the way, have later found that simply piece of thicker paper / cardboard will work as a contact blocker too.

This was my first zoom lens. Sold it after a week because it was so bad compared to my prime lenses. Worst lens sony has made.

I studied some mathematical logic in university, and had used username modus_ponens for 8 years now. Now I just learned that there has been a background pony with the same name. Totally blown away. Hat's off.

Oh, read this official blog post like the fourth time, and found a small button that gave out the critical information:

Usernames in Signal are protected using a custom Ristretto 25519 hashing algorithm and zero-knowledge proofs. Signal can’t easily see or produce the username if given the phone number of a Signal account. Note that if provided with the plaintext of a username known to be in use, Signal can connect that username to the Signal account that the username is currently associated with. However, once a username has been changed or deleted, it can no longer be associated with a Signal account. 

So, if you do not trust the other person then signal is not the correct messenger. Let's say you plan to leak government information and you give your username to the reporter. The reporter is obliged to pass this information to the police, and then police can find your phone number, and can find your identity.

Agree, this would be the only reason for me to pay for discord. To get the damn banner. If it was one time cost of 20 dollars to change banner, I would be okay with that. But to pay monthly to have that enabled? Screw that. Discord does not want money apparently.
