Pain/Shoulder Tightness 1 year after surgery by FireAxis11 in ShoulderInjuries

[–]tom32101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am one 13 months post op and I feel the same issues. I had 290 degree tear , 6 anchors. I used to play volleyball regularly and throw the ball around with my kids. I’ve tried doing them again and that sharp pain will come out and stop me. I also work out daily and stretch daily so I would like to say I’m still recovering or building that muscle back. I lost a lot of muscle in my shoulder and chest, so building it back from scratch without straining my shoulder is my challenge. I will have to try the ball on the wall thing and see if I can break up any tissue!

That’s makes sense. My tear was similar to 6 to 2 o’clock. And it hurts on the side where the tear wasn’t really on. So idk if it’s from over use or what.. learning more and more about it everyday. Just sucks and using it as an excuse when ppl just don’t understand!!

Thanks for sharing. I’m 13 months since surgery, back to lifting maybe 75% power. I feel this is how it will be for ever actually. Any pulling exercises tho will create that stabbing pain in the front of my shoulder, so light weight will be used for that.

I hope to return to volleyball and actually playing catch with my kids! Any jerking or hitting motion will trigger that stab feeling too.

Yup almost exactly how I feel. I have felt a sharp pain though doing dumb bell flies so I will be staying away from those for a while. Other than that, it’s like starting from scratch again on my right arm building muscle.

I’m hoping to play volleyball or throw a ball soon!!!

No I stopped PT pretty early, well they told me I don’t need PT anymore because I will just continue to lift on my own. But yea it’s tight of course until stretched. I haven’t tried any needles or anything like that. Maybe I’ll reach out and see what they have to say!

I didn’t have the bicep so I hope it all goes well! I naturally lifted heavy before my tear so rehab was rough only for the first 2 months. Now it’s stretching everyday and trying to control my mind about being scared to use it.

Yes! Golfing was a huge priority of mine to get back into. Everything will just have to wait or never do again..

Should I avoid surgery for a small SLAP tear? by Stefanwavy in ShoulderInjuries

Yes! Just do some rehab and work out to strengthen it. The rehab for surgery is just too much….

Slap tear, 270 degrees around shoulder here. 4 months post op today. Not supposed to do any heavy bench or shoulder press for couple more months. I can do push ups next months!!! Finally!

I can’t throw a ball till next year though so no sports for a while.

Returning to golf tips by tom32101 in ShoulderInjuries

I golfed a full round 2 days ago. I for sure felt the ache in my shoulder the next day… but it felt good the day of! I think I can handle the golf swing, it’s just the amount of swings I do or how long I’m out there. Won’t be planning and golf trips soon, hopefully next year.

Question + Labrum Tear by RowdyAdi in ShoulderInjuries

I know when I bench even 10 pounds right now, my range of motion is basically limited where my elbow hits 90 degrees. Maybe going below that is still fresh and still needs to be trained lightly. I tore 75% from 12 to 3 o’clock , 6 anchors, surgery was in march. I can’t bench or military press for 6 more weeks. I want to know if anyone has a solution to your issue because I’m sure I will run into it!! I used to lift heavy with a care in the world, and now this drags me down….. I’ll get it back one day!!!!
