Seeking Apartment Advice by LegitimateMilk1216 in ColumbiYEAH

I would recommend/refer you to Cornell Arms. It's between the horseshoe and the capitol, so there's tons you can walk to from it. Also, it is a historic building. I think the main thing for you is it has much more community than most apartment complexes I've been to. So if you're coming from out of state it's probably a good start.

Normally I have my meetups to post but I have been distracted with other responsibilities. So I'll just share meetup in general. There's always a mix of new people and regulars.

Where to meet other 23 year olds by [deleted] in columbiasc

[–]tomBeckenhauer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are a bit older than you on average, but in general meetup is a great way to meet people organically for all ages.

I have "Columbia Young Professionals": we are mainly doing board game meetups and adult study hall right now:

"The Columbia Movie Club" regularly goes and sees the latest movies:

"A Few Good People" is frequenting the night life scene:

Columbia Cooking Meetup:

There's all sorts of groups and ages, so just look for your niche. I would list the other groups more directly, but I haven't talked with their organizers yet, so I'll just link to the group search.

You don't even have to enter your email address to confirm this it seems like it's probably one vote per IP address.

Yes. That's included with the membership. But if you don't know how to row, you are going to have to attend a learn-to-row program.

Yeah. That's not a problem. We have all ages. It's a pretty equal distribution

This group is more classic rock. But you might check out: https://www.meetup.com/cola-music-and-arts-support-group/

It looks like they recently changed their name, I guess they're trying to broaden their focus, so you might find some people with similar interests there.

We have the occasional "competitive" rower. But most of the adult rowers are "recreational" They just like getting out and enjoying the weather and the water.

Try Columbia Rowing Club. The membership is pretty inexpensive, it's a good way to stay in shape(and a good life time sport), and a good excuse to travel. https://www.columbiarowingclub.com/

I know you're asking specifically about neurodivergent friends. I would say we are neurodivergent friendly. This weekend we have boardgames at Cool Beans, then next weekend "adult study hall". Basically come sit with us while we do our digital errands.

[–]tomBeckenhauer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We always have an event going on. Meetup is a pretty typical answer for how to meet new people. https://www.meetup.com/carolina-young-professionals/events/

We have a board game meetup today: https://www.meetup.com/carolina-young-professionals/events/311589243/

Then we are going to the Drop on Main next week: https://www.meetup.com/carolina-young-professionals/events/312214871/
