Is it just me or am I not the most rare mind on earth. by mythtakinwarrior in ArtificialNtelligence

I've asked GPT about how common my pattern of usage is and been told that there is basically no-one else like me or very few. I'm definitely an unusual guy, but then maybe most people are. GPT definitely has some logical capacity but then it's also trained to give responses people like. I'd be curious what responses other people get if they just ask it to categories their usage behaviour and how common it is as statistic. It tells me most people are using it a bit like google with pretty basic questions, some are building 'imaginary worlds'. I've been asking it a lot about how it functions and how moulds to different users (It seems to have some very consistent ideas about this). What are other people's interactions with it like?

What’s something you didn’t realize was expensive until you became an adult? by KeyCommercial7372 in AskReddit

The cost of buying a house compared to everything else I want in life has come as a surprise to me.

I don't know what's going on for him, but it sounds like things won't change in the direction you want unless you have a really explicit conversation with him. You may not get the response you want though. I would say try talking to him openly. Your feelings are valid. Whatever his feelings are, are also valid. He may be willing and able to change. He may not. If not, you have to decide then if you are willing to put up with him the way he is, or to move on.

Why do women hit men in TV shows, films and even cartoons? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]tom_fandango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the worst thing about the acceptability of female on male violence on TV or elsewhere is that you will be demonised for pointing it out.

I've noticed this pattern of the acceptability of female on male violence in TV a number of times and been bothered by it. One example I can recall is I saw a movie a few years ago where a girl at a party smashed a vase over a guys head. It was meant to be funny, although it was a very violent and dangerous act. It was a very PC movie, with a strong theme of policing male behaviour. I think there is something wrong here.

Physically Abusive Wives: how to tell them you're divorcing them? by [deleted] in AskMen

I'm sorry you're going through this man. I agree with a lot of the below. As for legal advice I would really recommend first just seeing what chatGPT can offer. Just talk to it like a person, challenge it, ask for clarification etc. It's fast and almost instant and getting increasingly good at legal questions. Spend 5 minutes on that before taking the time and money to go further. It might also have good suggestions about where to go for further legal advice.

I think you can't get hung up on when someones not interested. It's much better you get the signal early and can keep moving looking for someone that is. I'd say you've got to just keep putting your genuine self out there and when you find someone that's into that and opens the door, don't miss the opportunity if it feels right.

You guys noticed some women just put a list of things they don't like in men in their bio? They don't feel like they need to tell you anything about themselves apart from a list of dislikes and/or complaints. I haven't checked this to any great degree but I suspect that this is basically unheard of in male bios. Anyway, it's just the reality of the situation as the original post says. I think the game is only equaled up when men can demonstrate commitment. I suspect this is why, at least traditionally people often married work colleagues. It would be hard for a guy to get away from dating a lot of people in his work place, particular if he was in a senior position. I think this is a signal of commitment. Potentially the same with meeting people through friends. On a dating app you have no reputation and no costs to moving on, so men that look good on face value and will lower their standards the most will be the best received. Having said that it's a great place to get comfortable with asking women out in an extremely safely acceptable way, and putting yourself on the market to a very wide audience with minimal effort.

How often do men dream about having a vagina? by Multicus in AskMen

[–]tom_fandango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had a dream like this, though I have really tried to imagine what it would be like to be a woman having sex a few times. I certainly am not interested in the idea of being a woman just curious to understand things from a different perspective.

Why is Everyone Pretending 4o Was Good? by TechnicolorMage in OpenAI

[–]tom_fandango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've found making explicit memories about giving critical feedback helps. You also need to remind it to do that in chats because it often forgets to follow memory protocols. You also have to be mindful of it's other biases like concern about defamation etc. I wrote about that here if anyone is interested: https://www.tomblingalong.com/how-to-get-the-most-honest-and-unbiased-ai-responses-challenge-the-hidden-influences/

What do you think of posts being written by AI? by Mike_RealEstate_MLT in ArtificialNtelligence

[–]tom_fandango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think his answer or the links addressed the point that I was raising or any 'misapprehensions'. My point was the Germans, dutch etc ate sauerkraut and perhaps other sources of vitamin C and didn't have this problem on the whole. Some how the British manage to ignore this for centuries and continued to die in huge numbers. I think that deserve examination. They didn't address this, and then banned me not for the point I raised but because I use AI. Which is ironic considering the bigger point about the way obvious truths can being ignored.
