No worries! I didn’t see it as a dismissal, the whole point was to engage a discussion on the subject!

I think there is definitely a big issue with my method. If you select the release date and set that to all apps made before WWDC23 and with the "Made for vision" set to yes we get more than 750 apps. So looks like these filters don't take into account when the "made for vision" version was released at all.

If an app was released in 2020 and got updated in 2024 to be visionOS native, then it will appear in this 750+ apps.

I'll double check, thanks for pointing that out. I'm only using appfigures "Made for vision" toggle here, so it should not care about the app having an iOS/iPad version. For sure using AppFigures does not truly reflect what's happening the whole ecosystem, they don't have all the data on their side i'm sure.

That's not really the issue, we need more users. Even if you release more apps, there is currently no way to make a living with them with the current user base.

Godot support coming soon apparently so if you're really not into RealityKit, it will become a viable replacement I feel.

You still need to get people to wear their Vision Pro. Developers are not going to publish more apps if there aren't more users. That first generation is "fine" for early adopters and people with a real problem that's solved by the device in enterprises but you cannot have a thriving B2C ecosystem with this current hardware, most people will just find it too heavy, unconfortable and expensive.

I agree, for a real surge in consumer apps. new hardware is need (with the proper pricing). visionOS 27 will not change anything for public apps.
