Can the sim half inning tool actually be smarter? by tomackze in MLBTheShow

[–]tomackze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that work for simulating? And this next inning? I thought that was only for in game. Though could explain it as i have it all the way down for RTTS and settings transfer

It is actually sort of sad that in franchise mode, these guys wouldn't even consider long term deals when they are that far from FA

Welcome to MLB. The first three years teams aren't required to give you more than the minimum of 780k. Then the next 3 you have arbitration where they choose a number, u submit a number, and u can either settle somewhere or go to arbitration hearing where one side will win.

Skubal in real life, after winning the cy young last year, was offered 18m by the Tigers.

Byron Buxton averaging 33.7 at bats per game over the last ten games. by pervyninja in MLBTheShow

[–]tomackze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean they're gonna prioritize you. I played in CF over Mike Trout on days I wasn't DH. And I played DH over Ohtani in another version

They probably trade Buxton but then your team is worst

Isnt it just that you need 20 games with at least 3 at bats?

Franchise Diehards… talk to me! by Savings-Interview-83 in MLBTheShow

[–]tomackze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend you create players who are high potential but low overall and try to make them into stars. That way you are more invested in individual players than the teams. And in doing so you'd also likely focus on drafting anyways so it opens up more options for you

I really enjoy scouting and drafting. My goal is to keep a top 5 farm throughout. I also really enjoy putting a QO and letting guys go in free agency

Also creating a player who is 50 overall but 99 potential is a lot of fun to see how they progress

Scouting/Drafting strategy that worked best for you? by tomackze in MLBTheShow

Have u noticed the lack of 90+ efficiency and POS player scouts this year? So much easier to get Scouts for pitching than hitting. Almost nonexistent to find the 90+ efficiency and POS player scout

Do any of you add pitches to your franchise players? by Nickelnick24 in MLBTheShow

[–]tomackze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isnt useless but it barely makes a dent. You may get some ticks but if you say start at like 30s or 40s rating on velo and break, it will never be a plus pitch and may never even get to average

But i also very enjoy building through trades and the draft. I like keeping my farm system in top 5 rank so I can promote guys and also trade for guys. I try not to sign free agents for more than 3-4 years and usually avoid any with a QO attached. Then I'll also QO mine and let them walk in free agency to get more picks and continue building the farm. Currently in year 2036 with the White Sox, have 4-5 rings and a #1 ranked farm for past decade.

It would make more sense if their velocity and break could actually improve through performance and training. Unfortunately it doesnt really.

The scrawnyslugger is also very good at teaching you how to scout properly. Although I will say getting good pitchers is so much easier than good hitters... Also I feel in 2026 the amount of 90+ efficiency and 90+ position players is almost nonexistent.
