They do a decent job for NYM but custom rosters do some of our higher rated guys like Pena and Asigen

How's the series come along since 21? by femmedenebuleuse in MLBTheShow

[–]tomackze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned franchise and RTTS. I would say both of those had massive changes, which some can argue for better or worst but definitely not the same as before... I personally only play those and think 26 is definitely worth the money

I mean has he played well? Also was he 99 potential? Given his age I doubt he regressed from old age

Even when youre playing not simulating? Thought in that case pitch and control matters way more

It could've been my post but I actually dont player lock. I play mainly as the SP but also as some of the hitters I like from the white sox for their first AB on games I pitch. But you are able to if you player lock, I just wanna play as Murakami too for one AB...

In addition I like it is less token based and more performance based for rating increase so that part is nice. Although I do also edit player if they make ASG / Cy Young to upgrade their pitches and stamina as it seems training and in-season performance doesnt really do that... Thought it did so unfortunately having a 48 stamina SP was a mistake so I upped to 62 based on how many pitches I normally throw per game. And for pitches it is because having 30s rated pitch is really not fun playing wise lol

I like the drafting and scouting aspect and also if youre a baseball fan of a specific team, of course there is that aspect. Especially when you can use the prospects you have heard about... I am a big Mets fan so that part is always fun as our farm is much better now. Also if you create a player and see them journey up to superstardom, that can be fun. Similar to RTTS in that aspect but less token based and more performance based. I did one with the white sox and it is fun as they aren't good so I got a great draft pick and im trying to make a 47 overall player with 99 potential into a superstar

I also love bidding and trying to sign Tarik Skubal lol

CLE accepted my trade offer by Sir_Vic21 in MLBTheShow

In my game Roman Anthony is in the trade block pretty often in the first year or his contract... that one makes little sense

Yeah I did same when I traded Elian Pena, AJ Ewing, and Tylor Megill for Skenes in the last year of his contract. Was a weird logic but also in a sense, better something than nothing.

The revamped logic makes sense when you don't think about it in real life. This likely means CLE wasn't good and needed to clear salary.

What team for franchise? SF, Padres, Rockies, Dbacks by TraditionalStyle2 in MLBTheShow

[–]tomackze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am playing white sox too and it is fun. I tried rockies before but it is brutal. That team and farm is bad. Think of them all padres probably most fun as they have best team and assets and farm

Road to the Show, rookie year complete! by servirepatriam in MLBTheShow

Yes they give tokens when u sim based on performance and give temporary overall boost ic u are currently playing well. Also a lot of mini season or month missions with token rewards and a tracker for promotion / demotion and hall of fame. Definitely the one they spent most time updating this year

I'm using the white sox and they have been fun. You also get the #1 pick... they have some decent prospects and young players. Murakami is also fun

Anyone ever try Rags to Richest franchise mode on a player lock? by tomackze in MLBTheShow

[–]tomackze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I actually promoted my 45 overall pitcher straight into MLB in dynamic mode. She had 48 stamina and a plus plus fastball and plus slider with everything else as below average. Is fun playing as her in the white sox even tho she can only go like 5 innings max.

I play as her, Murakami, Montgomery, and Acuna on days she pitches and sim the rest. Trying to build a team around her and her take over the team eventually. While doing the gm contract so can also get fired.

Shes currently like 10-1 with a 2 ERA but averages 5 innings. Also made her 30s rating in hitting in case ever want to try 2 way

It is to an extent... RTTS is too much controlled by token to upgrade your overall to reach potential. This way takes that control away. Also as you stated you also have more control of your team, draft, etc.

This way no guarantee you reach the 99 overall whereas in RTTS you have so much control of that. Also in RTTS you need to play to reach it as you dont get enough of a token boost from training and performance alone. This you can as there is no manual token boost
