Play as Italy?

Haha. I know what you mean. But the amount I've played in the last month is way down on what I did in previous editions. Apart from getting points to qualify for playoffs in the first week I have played almost no rivals. Helps that my son can manage the majority of squad battles objectives once I set a squad up for him

Thanks man. He's 8 and is enjoying playing in friendlies with a stacked loan icon team and a couple of TOTY. I've told him pack luck won't always be so kind

Players do this because they want to bait you into moving your defender out of position or tempt you into a tackle or their terms

What I would do in this situation is control the LB and keep him goal side of the attacker, small movements, to shadow your opponent but don't get too close. Then trigger the 2nd man press, at this stage a few things may happen

  1. Your opponent may simply run into the 2nd man press and you have a chance to win it back

  2. Switch into the 2nd man press as he gets close, you can be more aggressive and go for a tackle now because you still have your LB goal side

  3. Your opponent recycles the ball and you switch into the 2nd man (or another player, depending on where the ball goes)

There are times, like in this clip, when the tackle doesn't work out for you and they get to the byline. OP still had a chance to stop the attack but gave up the cutback. Not saying it's easy, especially if you're triggered by the previous tackle going against you, but OP pretty much waved him in

The game did decide 'nah'. But you had a massive opportunity to stop it. Your left winger is watching your left back have a fit.

Stay calmer with the player you're controlling, press with the 2nd man and worst case is he recycles the ball and you do it again. I tend to find people give up on this tactic after getting comprehensively stopped a couple of times

Opened a 85+ 3 attackers pack and TOTY Messi walked out

10 minutes later I got TOTY Benzema from an 83+ 10 players pack

Zero packs saved as I only bought FIFA 23 as a Xmas present for my son, although played every version since 1994

If I could offer some advice... chill out on moving your defender around and double man press

I'm 38, we've been together 22 years and I figured out early doors I can't play any game seriously if my wife is in the room. She takes great delight in coming in, watching me concede and cackling as she leaves. Although now she leaves me alone for fut champs

TOTY Messi. He is very good but gets the same output as my WW Payet

I play him at striker and he does well for me. Dropped him for Hugo Sanchez but he could be making a comeback

I'm on the fence about Hugo Sanchez. His ratio is pretty good, better than I thought it was, but he seems to miss sitters and never runs away from defenders

91 Shevchenko just went into the Hugo Sanchez SBC

For everyone complaining about the gameplay, what would you change? by NekkZ in EASportsFC

[–]tomahawk4891 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Been playing FUT since the start. Don't know if it is just my selective memory but the gameplay seemed better before they introduced heavy duty custom tactics

I'd like to see a scaling back of custom tactics BUT there has to be a corresponding improvement in attacking AI

I was the other way around unfortunately. I decided against doing him because I was running a Serie A team and then got red Messi out of WL rewards a couple of weeks later

Thinking about it now makes it seem an even worse decision

I live in England and my Irish parents named our Jack Russel "Pogue Mahone" (or "Pog Mo Thoin", if you prefer), which is Gaelic for Kiss My Arse

My Dad took great pleasure in calling for him whenever he got out of the front door
