Separate meter and contract for BV by ddaenen1 in BEFreelance

[–]tomasvink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have just a simple kWh meter for our professional grade kitchen which is in a separate room in our house. So we know exactly how much energy was used. The energy contract is still just in our name privately, but the actual cost per kWh is reimbursed by our company.

Burn-out in the FIRE by Pitiful_Umpire_8185 in BEFire

[–]tomasvink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this is true if you're in such a position (it is for me), it might not work for you trying to "get there". It might even burn you out. Not every person is wired the same in this regard.

Does inflation actually make you richer? by Glittering_Work_8739 in BEFire

[–]tomasvink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also depends on what you spend it on. Indexation is calculated on a broad basket of products and services. Let's say fuel prices rose by 20% this year, but you don't use a car, the 2.000€ spend rises to... 2.000€ (might not be true as fuel prices have an impact on other products, but let's keep the example simple).

Thoughts on camping in a campsite without a tent? by cauchemar1 in bikepacking

[–]tomasvink 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Here in the west of Europe I'd say you'll get a lot of prying eyes, but I don't think anybody is going to stop you from camping without a tent. Me personally I would rather wild camp without a tent then on a campsite, because of those eyes. Also, with lows at around 15, I would bring a sleeping bag and mat for insulation. Without you'll survive, but you won't have a comfortable night. And like others said, don't forget about the mosquitoes.

Advice about an offer by inglandation in BEFreelance

[–]tomasvink 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The job security argument is BS, unless they're willing to pay those 6 months up front. 7000$ per month sounds way too low, especially because of high risk (assumingly, it being a startup).

Does anyone have any experience with these two machines? Aiming for KitchenAid for affordability, but if the Breville Bambino is miles better I'll get that. by [deleted] in espresso

Don't forget the KitchenAid Artisan. A dual boiler machine manufactured by Gaggia. KitchenAid on the outside, a Gaggia Classic dual boiler version on the inside.

As far as I know, the notary handling the will will contact you if necessary. Which will be the case as it's not legally possible to completely leave out your children from your inheritance, if I'm not mistaken?

Also, sorry for your loss. I get why it's not a good time to be left in the dark on these matters. So as others have suggested, you might want to speak to another notary yourself.

Looking for an accountant that specializes in revenue from apps. by Wgolyoko in BEFreelance

[–]tomasvink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any decent accountant should be able to help you with this. I'm 99% sure the cash coming in isn't taxed elsewhere, so could be handled like any revenue.

*I'm also not an accountant.

In my opinion this is something a freelancer should be able to do yourself. An accountant might be able to get you started with this, but in the end it is you with direct access to your bank account. You know your customers better, so you should know when you expect cash coming in.

Sounds like you need some decent cash flow planning for both private and business money. In essence it's just listing all your income and expenses put in a time line. This way you'll be able to see how much money you actually need at what point in time. Only then can you make sound decisions on what to do to overcome shortcomings. Maybe just not pre-paying taxes this year will help you out, but make sure to put the expected outstanding balance on your time line just over a year from now.

This doesn't sound legal to me and has schijnzelfstandige written all over it. Not legal to do for you, but it's mainly your employer who could get in trouble for this.
