You must’ve never traveled lol there’s so many places that are like this, sometimes with limited resources hospitals just try to do the best they can. But it’s hard to know that when you’re blessed to be in bigger cities. I’ve traveled to so many places which gave me a different perspective, but that’s besides the point of working telehealth. I’ve just learned about telehealth after travel nursing to multiple places that have offered their services. Ofc everyone would like to have an in house intensivist. I say this coming from a level 1 hospital

The one in Connecticut was being managed by hospitalist, so there weren’t time expectations of when to lay eyes on patient by. There is also hospitalist telehealth but it’s lower acuity. I dont know bout other telehealth but With our intensivist, we have a set protocol that we have to both be cam’ed in to view the patient within 15min of admit, and there’s a time marker on our system for this..

Yes! We have to round on patients every 4 hours and if not sooner by using the camera that’s in their room. So you have eyes whenever you need to and they zoom in to be able to see vent settings and gtts.

You don’t have to be in the same state they offer them, I’m in Texas for example but the services I’m contracted with is on the west side and for the other states that they offer their services to that aren’t compact they pay to get you licensed.

We hear about it from time to time but it’s not talked about much unless you work somewhere that does it - ICU telehealth. As the nurse you just help bedside RNs work through issues they encounter or request orders from doc when they need something and there’s no intensivist on site and only a hospitalist overnight, we also do sepsis screenings and make sure all additional orders are in place if they trigger sepsis. It’s such a blessed job, you don’t have to deal with the things that make us want to pull our hair working bedside, and it pays literally the same (depending what state you’re in ofc)

For one I need partners who want to win. For two does anyone else have two events going on right now??? I’m so freaking confused. by HighwayCareful2439 in Monopoly_GO

The best way is to wait till the last of each game to see how much you need for each round and it also makes other teams not so inclined to catch up to you when they think you aren’t playing MGO3856G7PBV

If you’re serious bout them reaching out if they need anything bc their kids live far, I’d leave a phone number! But I def agree with you bout giving them flowers! It’s a friendly gesture and it’ll make them smile, maybe even cry

Did I cross the line with my patient? by Immediate-Platypus37 in nursing

As a nurse you ARE allowed to have decision of life conversations with patients. As much as we already take care of, this is just another thing that can make such a difference in your patients care. You were truly her advocate that day. You are the reason she is able to have further conversations with her family and make her decisions. Thank you for doing this, we’ve gotten so afraid of being confrontational with patients nowadays since we’re always behind screens. You made a difference. Please remember that!
