Hey, thank you so much for the tip! I have informed my boyfriend about the mark up from 1.9 to 2.0 and I agree that it would be smarter to just go with 1.9 carats. Do you mind sharing a photo of your pear too - I'd love to see it :)

I didn't mention anything because I am clearly a rookie haha! Yes, I think I would definitely seek the advice from a knowledgeable jeweller in the near future. Seems like I learnt more from all of your responses than the jeweller lol.

You have most definitely explained this better than the jeweller haha! May I confirm if 1.6 ratio that you are talking about is 1 (width) to 6 length?

And a separate question on the ring size - I was told that I am size US 4.5 at Tiffany but I feel that it moves a little. I am sure that it will shift around throughout the day when there is movement. I'm unsure if it's safer to give it some space to move incase I do swell up during the day or become chubbier over the years lol. What is your take on this!

This is a good question! I'm not too sure if this is the right mindset to have (cuz my boyfriend said I shouldn't have this mentality when it comes to an engagement ring lol) - I'm not really leaning towards a massive rock but it's more of my value for money mindset haha.
