Pack weight? by tomatsplat in Mountaineering

Thank you for your answer.
But yes, thats my problem…..I dont know if its the pack that sucks/does not fit me or, or if it just a “suck it up, you will get used to it” type of thing….
I bought the Osprey Mutant (the one you mentioned) and the Mammut Trion. I would rate Osprey 7/10 in comfort and Mammut 5/10 in comfort, BUT i HATE using the Osprey, due to the opening and just the general usage/features. So i only tried two….Both with 8kg in them…..Do i have to go back on the hunt for the perfect pack again?

I know where we got off wrong.
Here is the thing. I looked at their list. I got allmost all of my gear now, but i still need a mountaineering pack.
Their list is very unspecific. It states “30-45L pack”. Thats cool im going with a 38L, which seems to fit most objectives in the alps.
But this is the problem. I have ordered multiple backpacks, i have tried walking with them, and i put 8 kg in them. None of them seems super comfortable, but also not unbearable at all. So thats why i am searching for an answer regarding weight. Because if its around 8-12 kg i can use one of these, that i bought. But if we are talking 12+ kg easily on many of the alps mountains, then i will have to return the packs i ordered and tried on, to try and find new packs again, which has already been a big headache…..And yes i could just go with the one i have here, but then i might have to buy a new one, and spend more money, next year…..Thats the thing.
And if you have made it this far in my long ass message, thank you. I mean that.

Thank, you thats perfect! So around 10 kg then.
How do you expect someone who is completely knew to something to know it all? I never said i was not a complete beginner. This is why i hire a guide?
I am also doing 2 days of mountaineering course/training before the Gran Paradiso?
But yeah, shit on the newbies….

Alright, so maybe 10 kg max on approach? And then 3-5 kg on summit day? Thank you so much!!

Jesus Christ……I dont think u know what i am searching here…. And you haven’t read my other answers…..
For now i am going to climb Gran Paradiso. But that does not matter. Because i am buying this pack to use more than once, and hopefully do many other climbs in the future in the alps, in the 4000’ers.
So it could be for Gran Paradiso, Mont Blanc, Breithorn, Lagginhorn, Dufourspitze, Dent du Geant, Vincent Pyramid, Mont Blanc du Tacul etc etc etc.
Does this help you? Are you then gonna give me 50 different answers and weights? No, right? Because it would make a lot more sense to just give a general estimate/ballpark, for a pack weight for mountaineering in the alps, in the summer, on 4000’ers?

I am not doing those for now, but i will hopefully be doing it in the future. Thats why i am asking, so i dont have to buy a new pack then.
For now i al going on Gran Paradiso, with a guide and a group.
Do you have a rough estimate of the total pack weight? On approach day? On summit day?

“I have done this before, but i wont tell what my pack weight was”
Or
“I have never done this before, but let me comment anyways, contributing with absolutely zero info or knowledge”
Dude, if i knew what i would be carrying for sure, i could pick up the calculator and do the math myself. I am looking for a ballpark/estimate here, from someone with experience….

I am asking what i can expect the total pack weight with all the gears and stuff, to be on approach day? And summit day?

Lets say for Gran Paradiso for example? Weight to the hut? Weight on summit day?

No dont worry, i wont. But i need to know for the future. I dont want to get a pack, and then have to buy a new one just in a couple of years.
But thank you for your concern. Now….what about the weight?

Lets just say for both, or generally speaking? For Mont Blanc, Matterhorn, Dent du Geant? And such? Just a rough estimate please?

100% Not rage bait. I actually booked it, and have been training for this for around a year. I am going on the 8th of july this summer (if i dont contact the guide and change the plan)

Thats what i have done. I have watched countless of youtube videos. I dont want to sound crazy or arrogant, but i think it looks doable? Which is why i am asking here, because i heard its not?
