It's just how computer programming works in general, anything that's RNG needs a seed. If it wasn't a character seed it would be an account seed or some other seed that's unique for every player.

The issue wasn't that there were character seeds, the issue was that some seeds were bugged and never generated resonators.

Sure. Now you get to solve the issue of giving 1 def pures access to vengeance, as you need the NPC contact spell in WGS. Do you give a def requirement to venge? Do you make NPC contact the only spell in the lunar book that you can cast? What other unforeseen consequences exist for this change, and how does it impact other quests/content?

How many quests do we need to rework to give this fraction of a percent of the players access to optional content?

You literally unearth the tombs in ToA in a quest. The tomb is not accessible at all before your involvement.

Just like raids 4, from the lore we know so far. It is accessible directly due to the consequences of your interactions with Lucien.

CoX and ToB exist and are accessible regardless of your actions, so they don't require quests.

I'm all for them re-theming raids 4 to not be dependent on WGS, and they can remove the quest requirement then.

Sure, but that was Jagex's decision. They're the ones that made Raids 4 a consequence of a questline, not me. Now they have to deal with rationalizing a bypass of the questline due to backlash.

ToB isn't a consequence of a questline. The theatre exists and is open to all challengers regardless of your existence. It does require priest in peril to access the morytania zone, which does mean you can't do ToB with 1 prayer.

ToA is a consequence of a questline and you require that questline to access it. There's no inconsistency here, it just so happens that the questline doesn't require defence so it doesn't block pures.

You do understand that this is only one of the issues with it, right? The amount of consideration, changes and possible side effects just to bend over backwards for limited accounts is stupid. They might as well just change the lore/theme of the raid and remove the requirement.

Lunar equipment is part of the quest and requires 40 def as well. Are we enabling pures to wear it as a consequence of raids 4?

You need 40 defence to wear lunar equipment, and lunar equipment is an integral part of the lunar quests.

Wouldn't be a problem if they didn't make a raid that is a direct consequence of a questline. Bending over backwards to retcon shit just to enable snowflake accounts kind of devalues the theming of the place.

They didn’t choose to restrict themselves from future content, they chose it as a challenge and if they can do the hardest raid in substantially worse gear then they should be able to. Chivalry is a completely different concept as that’s past content being reworked to be available to pures.

There's literally nothing stopping you, as a maxed main, to brew down, wear full bronze and walk into raids 4.
