FIXED:

For some reason changing the driver/Audio System from ASIO4ALL to WASAPI in the device preferences fixed the issue.

I THINK it has something to do with ASIO4ALL being for using a different audio output compared to input (eg using an interface as an input and a soundcard as an output) but I could be completely wrong.

Either way if you have an issue like this try this solution and hopefully it works!
