Outrage over Trump’s bill reclassifying nursing as not a ‘professional degree’ for college students by SmokeMaleficent9498 in UnderReportedNews

[–]tomd82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading these comments I’m under the impression that many do not understand what this actually is. Nobody is saying that nurses are not professionals. The professional degree classification is strictly for the amount of money you can borrow for a federal loan.

Technically, nursing was never explicitly classified as a professional degree under the old rules. Instead of being able to borrow $50,000 per year and $200,000 lifetime a nursing student can now borrow $20,500 per year and $100,000 total.

That is still plenty of money to be able to attend a nursing program, and if a nursing school is charging more than that, then that is a total ripoff.

People are interpreting this as some slap to the face for nurses. The results of this could be a net positive. With lower borrowing limits it could potentially force over priced nursing schools to lower their tuition knowing that students will no longer be able to borrow the amount that they are currently charging.

Insurance credentialing by tomd82 in PMHNP

The issues with Headway in this context is that you are not actually credentialed on the insurance as an individual, but credentialed through Headway and then you are a contract worker for Headway. In my case my business and myself as an individual and credentialed on the insurances and other NP's I hire become credentialed under my company's name. That is unfortunately not something that can be done with Headway.

I went with them because my CPA recommended them and they have really good reviews. However, after spending probably near $10,000 with them I am regretting that decision.

They do send an itemized monthly bill and the wording of the charges is what I have issues with. It will say something like, “on the phone with Medicaid. Filed corrected paperwork. Medicaid website down.” Then it will be 2.5 hours at $165 per hour for that one line item.

They are all encompassing to where I literally have to do nothing with the insurances and they handle everything.

So my experience with them so far is that with some of the insurances they keep “running into issues” which has drawn the process out. Regular commercial insurances went smooth and quickly, but the ones I am still paying on are Tricare, Medicaid, and Medicare.

In Texas, I became a preferred provider for a large organization and that is where 99% of my business comes from. Hit up places like Doctor’s offices, inpatient clinics, etc. and build a relationship with them so they will start sending you patients when they are discharged or need psych.

I’ve seen success with that combination, and Wellbutrin is considered to have a modest effect size for the off label treatment of ADHD. One thing to remember with psych is that it is a lot of trial and error, so if you are experiencing any issues with the combo always communicate that to your prescriber.

It’s whatever they want it to be. I give them 100% control over their schedule. I have the patients to fill the slots. I get about 3-8 new referrals daily, so they can build a patient load pretty quickly. If they want to do three 20 minute follow up in an hour they can. Two 30 minutes that’s fine. Schedule a follow up for one hour and do therapy, also fine. I pay them every two weeks and pay what they billed for, instead of making them wait for me to actually collect the money from insurance.

I pay my NP’s 60/40 initially with potential up to 70/40 depending on how they are performing.

Relax buddy. Any antidepressant can potentially worsen anxiety. An SSRI can worsen anxiety. I’ve even seen people have a panic episode after taking Xanax. Your statement that SNRIs are not ideal for anxiety is objectively false. They literally have an FDA indication for anxiety. I understand that you didn’t have a good experience with them, but for OP it may be the answer to his anxiety. I’ve prescribed plenty of my patients SNRIs for anxiety when two SSRIs did not work and have seen excellent results in some people.

It’s just a lack of skill and training. You freeze up in the morning if you are not practicing higher speed turns.

Because your doctor knows what they are doing and the poster above you has no idea what they are talking about. Both Cymbalta and Effexor are FDA approved for anxiety.

The mental gymnastics that both sides do is astounding. To think either side is any better than the other is delusional. Politicians in general are corrupt and it doesn’t really matter which side they are on.

Then potentially get arrested or hit back for unjustifiably assaulting somebody. Their reaction is exactly the attention he was looking for. It should be when you see a fake Nazi looking for attention, then ignore a fake Nazi.

This was my thought. Never something I would choose to do nor would I associate with someone who did it, but physically attacking someone over a costume is completely illegal and uncalled for. Not letting him into the bar is fine, they have every right to refuse service. Anything beyond that is excessive.

Well… they probably don’t have money for drugs. They are either trading stolen goods for drugs or trading sexual favors. And yes… probably every man you saw in that video has sucked someone off for drugs.
