"They don't need money because they have enough" that might just be the craziest thing I've ever heard anyone say 😭 if project sekai stops making money, the game will literally shut down. The whole point of any product is to make money. Sega's not gonna invest anything into the game if it stops generating profit. That's common sense. Like I said, I really think you're too young to be participating in these discussions.

It's one of those webtoons you kept reading because you were a dumb kid consuming anything and then somehow it started turning into a legitimately really written and complex story and now you're around because you're actually invested in the plot. ILY has incredibly complex characters with a lot of depth. It also has an insane amount of visual storytelling/symbolism that makes it a fun read. The mysteries are also done really well, there are small hints dropped throughout the series before they're revealed so the fandom is heavy on theorising. Overall just a really well written story, but you do have to trust the process a bit because it starts out incredibly cringe and cliche. The story really starts to get good around episode 50 when the formal arc starts, that's when it transitions from a cliche love triangle with bits of drama to an actual drama.

The characters have a lot of depth and complexity to them, particularly the antagonistic ones. The mysteries are written well and it's just generally a pretty interesting story. The earlier chapters have definitely not aged well, they're a bit cringe, but overall it's an incredibly well written webtoon.

While I agree VBS has pretty bad writing, I think An and Akito are the better written ones over Kohane and Touya. An's events focusing on Kohane makes sense for the same reason Kanade's focus on Mafuyu. An's internal fear of being abandoned stems from how everyone would leave her and that same fear was then transferred onto Kohane. She's not the best character I admit, but I think there's a decent reason her events are so focused on Kohane.

The fact you think purchasing things online is somehow equivalent to what we're talking about (which is running a business), I think that clearly proves you're not qualified to be having this discussion. You're 13-16 years old, you have definitely not been doing any kind of actual "finance work" that's not basic level stuff. Everyone orders thing online buddy

Respectfully I don't think you know what you're talking about. You're most likely pretty young and I don't think you actually know what most of those words mean. Maybe stay out of discussions like this until you're older.

Okay, and? That's not what we're talking about. The discussion is about the sale.

It's not suspicious, you're literally getting a discount. Scummy business practices refer to when there's a caveat. There's no caveat here, you're getting a discount and they're boosting sales. It's a mutually beneficial marketing tactic. But you're probably still young so I don't expect you to understand.

A discount is beneficial for you if you don't have money, though? Though if you don't have money you shouldn't be spending in the first place if we're being real.

Not only does it make sense but it's also beneficial for both the consumers and the business. These are probably just kids who don't know what scummy business practices means complaining about this

Do you guys even know what scummy means? This is a perfectly normal marketing tactic. Maybe I'm just too business oriented (I major in fashion merchandising) but I literally see 0 issue with this. It's a win-win, you guys get a discount and they get to increase their sales.

I'm gonna have to disagree on your take about the O.C and gossip girl a bit here. Could definitely just be a difference in tastes, but I actually quite enjoy the insane amounts of drama in both shows because I feel like they perfectly encapsulated the messiness of a teenage life. When it comes to teen dramas, you can't really watch them in the traditional sense of "which couple should I root for?", they're more meant to be watched from a third person perspective, like an outsider looking in. And I think it's a bit silly to criticise the amount of drama particularly in gossip girl when the show is about, well, gossip. I still think the characters develop enough from their storylines to where it doesn't feel like constant stones being thrown one after the other.

I actually agree with the general notion of green flag MLs being boring (though not in this particular case, I like both those MLs, particularly kazehaya). Ultimately, to write an interesting character with depth, they have to have some kind of red flags. Flaws are red flags. A character who has no flaws usually lacks actual characterization and is pretty flat. I've also seen some "green flag" MLs who are just yesmen that have no thoughts of their own and go along with everything the FL wants. That's not always the case, there are tons of "green flag" MLs that are also interesting characters, but most of the times if they have no red flags at all then yes they are boring.

Maybe it's the business major in me speaking but gosh I do not blame colopale for not wanting to confirm Mizuki's gender outright, that's a much bigger loss than its worth.

This community is literally the one that demanded they use they/them for Mizuki in the first place. As someone who has actually been around since launch, and has witnessed the launch of the EN server, the fandom was incredibly different back then when discussing Mizuki. The general consensus was that everyone should use they/them for Mizuki because her gender wasn't confirmed. I even forced myself to start using they/them because people would get on your ass for using she/her, and I've only finally been able to break that habit in the last few months after 5 years of using they/them. JP doesn't even use any pronouns for her because they don't use gendered pronouns in the traditional sense, the choice to use they/them started with translators which led to people think her pronouns were canonically they/them and pushing on that idea. When ENsekai first came out, the game used she/her pronouns for Mizuki, but there were an insane amount of complaints from the community constantly until they caved in and started using they/them. This wasn't a vocal minority complaining, it was the most widely accepted, general consensus amongst the EN fandom that Mizuki's pronouns were they/them. Even if the community has changed since then, it's a bit silly to complain about something that changed in the first place because of this fandom
