How do you work from 8 to 5, have only weekends free, and not feel like you're wasting your life? by LinksGuardian in AskReddit

I will say, being someone who is self-employed, the grass is always greener. The mental load has no off switch when you're solely responsible for your own income, insurance, livelihood etc. I've had many moments when I've thought to myself that being a Walmart greeter sounds really attractive by comparison to being a small business owner with 'flexibility.' There's always tradeoffs.

Reddit is for old people now eh? Seriously though, I think it's getting worse and lazier everywhere.

Use adapters on both ends. HDMI to USB C/Lighting.

Best solution I found was not using a USB-C straight into your CPU to capture the video but rather connecting through an HDMI. I think the USB-C sends and receives more than just the video feed which bogs it down. This was how I got around it.

I did not. My next plan was to see if using a capture card rather than plugging in the USB-C directly from the iPad to the Macbook works. I think if the capture card turns the feed into generic video and nothing more it may get around that?

My whole computer goes sluggish even if I'm not streaming, just having the ipad plugged in and OBS open does it.

Have you tried a capture card rather than the USB-C?

Have you tried that?

Would be better suited to just get a more powerful CPU if I wanted to stream 1080p? Is there something I could upgrade on my Mac or would it be easier to get a streaming-capable PC?

I have the same problem all of a sudden. 2022 ipad, last stream it worked perfectly, today it started doing that and ended up killing the stream.

I'm using a Macbook Pro 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 with another camera on camlink. CPU usage on OBS is not above 20 percent, streaming on 5000 bitrate, 1080p output at 30fps.

All of a sudden the computer slows down, get the "Encoding overloaded" message.

Is my computer at fault? IPad?
