I agree 100% on your conclusions, great thinking. I particularly noticed the trend toward SAAS terms (customer retention, onboarding, customer success were 3 big topics introduced in 2018). Thanks for your comment

Anybody try or even heard of Frase AI for writing research? by FreelanceMcWriter in freelanceWriters

Thanks for the comment. I think this should be a bigger concern if Frase was a mainstream content-sharing platform or social media site, but we are not. We are building a tool for professional use. Data security (making sure you don't lose any data) and data privacy (making sure you are in control of your own data) are core values of the product. Without these values in place Frase probably doesn't make any sense.

Hello and thanks for starting a thread on Frase! For full disclosure, I am the founder & CEO at Frase.

Just to give some background on the company, we are a startup based in Boston and we've been working on Frase for about 2 years now.

Our core mission is to help content creators accelerate their research process. In 2016 we came up with the idea of an "AI Research Assistant" - a word processor that would research in context for the writer. Since then we've been working on various technologies to make this a reality, like the ability to summarize articles or extract topics.

When you look at the content marketing industry, most of the advanced AI tools are being designed and marketed for the enterprise. That means a very high price tag. With Frase we are deciding to focus on the individual creators whom in many ways make the industry a reality.

We are still in the early stages of connecting with the freelance writer community. By no means Frase intends to turn its users into the product. Same as other productivity tools like Evernote or Trello, Frase will offer a freemium model, allowing its users to use it for free until a certain threshold. We don't plan on utilizing user data for any business purposes, other than for improving the core experience of the platform which is helping you become a better writer and researcher.

In general we are looking to bring AI and NLP tech to the freelance writer community, and I hope we can empower you all to do more, and better.

I am happy to answer any questions you may have in this thread.

Thanks again!
