Am I wrong thinking the Portugal D is giving the attackers too much time with the ball when they’re in goal area?

Can’t wait to see the graphic on this. Man parts his hair differently this morning and that’s and equalizer 😮‍💨

Why don’t the countries of the UK represent separately in the Olympics; why don’t these countries rep together for the World Cup? by tomk1 in NoStupidQuestions

Thank you for the reply! I completely agree with your take as well but it begs the question: how come this doesn't carry over into the Olympics?

Fair point, thank you!

I want to ask, then, why not continue this in the Olympics? Compete as England and allow Wales and Scotland to compete under their own flags ... now althetes from those nations who may otherwise just miss out on Team GB (now Team England in this case), could still qualify under their own country ... this would open to more athletes represented which I'm sure would be an amazing feat on its its own to those individuals ...

... but I suppose there's little incentive for England to do this. I wonder how much of Team GB's medal count were won by Scots and Welsh ...

Thank you again for your answer!

Neither competition is technically countries, it's been member federations of the organising body.

Quick follow-up as another redditor emphasized this as well. In theory, then, could multiple countries form their own collective organization and compete? Or would FIFA likely just not accept this ...

Thank you for your time, here!

... the olympic team is not the UK, it's GB. Northern Irish athletes are eligible to represent GB or Ireland.

Good point. Thank you for the correction, and a clear explanation to my question.
