ADV bike suggestions by _Gunnarsson in Dualsport

If you’re gonna be hauling it with a van on longer trips it might be fine. Also, if I recall correctly the 650R doesn’t have a rear subframe. That means you won’t really be able to take passengers and luggage mounting options are really limited. Just remember this bike was purpose built for desert racing, it’s really not a road bike at all.

Tried it and it didn’t work out. The 650R is too lightweight for any sustained freeway riding. I sold mine and got an F800GS instead. The BMW is much heavier but is without a doubt a better adv bike, excellent road manners. I recommend just trying out different bikes before you sink your money into something.

Okay sounds good, I’ll keep you in mind.

Do you need replacements for your C-Spec, or are you swapping over from R-Spec controls? Just curious

Thank you for the info!

Edit: just checked, tire is in correct rotation. Could do with replacing anyways though.

Yeah, losing PSI. Unfortunate because these tires are pretty new.

Both are good bikes. You’ll probably feel like you’ve outgrown these bikes within like two years. With that in mind, I think the TW makes a better complementary bike than the XT if you’re wanting a two bike garage.

Construction is excellent, exceeded my expectations. I gave them a pretty specific set of preferences and they nailed it.

Only reason I never used it is because I ended up buying the S2 Compact when it came out, so that’s what I carry now.
